I am overjoyed about this! Trace is not only an amazing performer, he’s brilliant at design. We’re lucky to have him for these shows.
In addition to lending us his talents on-screen, Trace Beaulieu will be art director for MST3K: The RiffTrax Experiments!

Have asked this before and always like the responses. What are your biggest “I saw that in the first run cinema” flexes? Couple of mine:

Transformers: The Movie (1986)
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993)
Office Space (1999)

RIP to the great Bud Cort, costar of the brilliant “Harold and Maude,” directed by genius Hal Ashby. I remember seeing it for the first time and gasping when I saw the Auschwitz tattoo on Ruth Gordon’s arm, so similar to many of the tattoos I would see on my grandfather‘s friends arms. RIP. ❤️

Thank you for your lovely review! It was such a fun film to work on — and the director, Martin Campbell, went on to direct such films as GOLDENEYE, THE MASK OF ZORRO and CASINO ROYALE, among many others.
Everyone used magic - except Private Eye Harry Lovecraft. When a book of magic is stolen Harry is on the case.
Ok - some of the creature effects are dated but this is a great film. A fantasy, funny, detective noir film where everyone commits.
Find this gem if you can - really good.

2009: Saw “Inglorious Bastards” special preview with introduction and post Q&A by director Tarantino

1984: After years out of circulation, saw Hitchcock’s Rear Window and Vertigo in college weekend cinema series. Sandwiched between them: debut film “Blood Simple“ by then unknown Coen Brothers.
First American run for a couple of these

Until The End Of The World (1991)
Slacker (1990)
The Quiet Earth (1985)

Harold and Maude is a movie that speaks specifically to its time, but which I mean any time between 1971 and forever. Rest In Peace, Bud Cort.

Was unfamiliar with James Van Der Beek, having never watched Dawson's Creek (I never watched Gilmore Girls in its initial run either, my bad). But damn he was hilarious on Don’t Trust the B in Apt. 23. That show was underrated, so was he. Rest In Peace.

There's plenty to criticize Democrats for, and I do it here all the time. But criticizing them for telling people they have to vote is so counterproductive it borders on malevolent. If in 2026, you don't get how important it is, you are as much a part of the problem as anyone you're angry at.

A gripping, strikingly de-glamorized portrait of North Jersey gangster life. The wise guys we see here are working stiffs who put themselves at grave risk w/o seeing much profit. Hell, unlike in GOODFELLAS, which owes an obvious debt to FAMILY ENFORCER, they don't even get to enjoy good food or blow

I keep thinking about that Matthew Broderick ad for AI that presented it as something that could do your work for you and let you take a day off.

Yeah, man, be sure to tell your boss that AI can do all your work for you, that'll probably lead to lots and lots of time off.
