I struggle with the Waymo thing. On one hand it reduces our reliance on car ownership and parking which imo is a win for urbanism. It's also long-term a win for public health & safety. On the other hand:

- It strips jobs away from folks
- Doesn't reduce VMT
- Google shouldn't be trusted

As someone who lived in the southdale neighborhood, it's quite hostile to peds. Any improvement would be welcome.
France Avenue near Southdale in Edina was designed for cars.

But that easy access for drivers zipping in and out of the shopping district increasingly collides with the city’s hopes to build apartments in the area and make it friendlier to walkers and cyclists.

...so we should let them go public so the public exposure is HIGHER?!
WSJ: “.. If the AI market blows up, the blast radius would be wide, hitting not only Wall Street firms, but also pensions, mutual and exchange-traded funds and individual investors, because of how debt is often sliced and resold across the financial landscape.”

If corporations are people, they should be subject to the death penalty like the rest of us.

(Corporate death penalties should be the only death penalties, of course, but until then...)

Hi Minnesotan Bluesky:

The DFL has a well-known transphobia problem. I'm organizing to change the party platform in 2026 to be explicitly supportive of trans people in Minnesota. This will provide a basis for expelling transphobia from our party.

We're already in a fight with the DFL centrists, we don't need to fracture again. Take the L, analyse and strategize for the future. No need to turn this into a three-way.

Legions of sycophants masquerading as journalists are praising an oligarch who ducked debates for 40 years while enriching herself & her family through relentless insider trading.

Their work reminds me how Malcolm X recognized the work of the press.

Pelosi finally retires after forcing conservative politics on congressional Democrats for decades
“Journalists” are re-writing history today to serve a powerful political dynasty, cement a cult of personality, and further degrade the vestiges of democracy—and none of that is about Trump

- Paper tigers are things that seem like risks, but aren’t

Shaffer raised $248,377.66 and got 6709 votes - that's $37 per vote she spent
This is who we have representing us now, ward 7. Keep an eye on your favorite cafe or it might be replaced by a McCafe.

And make sure Shaffer hears from you often. We don't have to make her job easy.

Katie - you're still the CM in my heart! Can't wait to see what you do next. 🧡😭
Who's funding Elizabeth Shaffer's quarter-million-dollar city council campaign? 🍟👀

Please share with the ward 7 residents in your life!

That state DFL mailer doing its job and splitting the vote. There should be lawsuits about this.
Amber getting more total votes than Michael! That’s a surprise to me!

I’m asking everyone to vote for a new Mayor by Tuesday and rank all 3 of Omar Fateh, Dewayne Davis, and Jazz Hampton in whichever order you prefer. I’ve worked at City Hall for the last 4 years and from my personal experiences I believe the City desperately needs a new mayor.

I'd argue nobody is a SNAP customer if SNAP is suspended. Retailers can ignore the terms if the feds can. This is not legal advice.
The USDA sent an email to grocery stores telling them they are prohibited from offering special discounts to customers affected by the SNAP funding lapse.
I'm aware of at least 2 stores that had offered struggling customers a discount, then withdrew it after receiving this email
