We already have a marble mouth on the council from Ward 3. Can't have 2.

Benefit of the doubt alert. Maybe she means ELEFA? CCPO? Todd Barnette? MDHR? And Frey?

The fee shouldn't ever cap. It should double until it hits the land value when the city just takes it and builds housing on it.

We live int the bizzaro world where all we see is crime and somehow the incumbent of 8 years is going to save us from it! Don't think about it too hard, the moderates don't.

Police officers who publicly declare that they’ll quit if a mayoral candidate they dislike wins the election are (1) usually bluffing—sure buddy, toss away that paycheck and pension—and (2) exactly the sort of cops cities would be better off without, ones who don’t see themselves as public servants.

Wife did a gravel order from Lowe’s for me to pick up. I drive to the pick up dock. Guy with a radio comes out. I show him the order receipt. He radios inside. They tell him to tell me to tell my wife to download the app so that she can check in on it to let them know I’m here to pick up the order.

I hope @dewayneforminneapolis.com doesn't mind me retelling a story he told me when we first met last winter. I kept it to myself because he wasn’t telling it publicly but he mentioned it yesterday. It’s one of the things that’s leading me to rank him first. A hope-its-ok-and-I-get-right 🧵:

Yesterday, I hosted an incredible event, "Ward 8 for a New Mayor." We talked about why we need a new mayor and then @jazzformayor.bsky.social , @omarfatehmn.com , and @dewayneforminneapolis.com laid out why they should be our next mayor. I came away excited about all of them and will rank all three!

Saw The Ruins at the Dowling studio last night. Set on the backdrop of middle east/west musical traditions, this 2 person show is a beautiful and thought-provoking exploration on the meaning of life through music and poetry. #GuthrieTheRuins

Don't think I could live with the shame. Might be better to see if I can convince any of my Frey neighbors to consider getting a Davis sign too.

If you know any candidate name you know too much. They need impressionable, un-aware voters to implant their propaganda.

Even though I won't be voting Frey, sometimes I wonder if I should get a Frey sign to add to my Davis sign because it'd help Davis down here.

This is the perfect opportunity for someone to get a taste of being in public office. 2 month commitment and you can be done or realize it is for you to be a public servant and run for something next time.

❤️ Not trying to mansplain. Just trying to help since you seemed to be wrestling with your third choice and wanted to make sure you knew there was the blank option. You can also use blanks for protest. For example I vote blank, blank, Palmisano as my protest vote since she is running unopposed.

If you have reservations I want to remind you you can just not have a 3rd choice. The ballot will be counted without that bubble being filled.

David Simon, creator of ‘The Wire’, being interviewed by Ari Shapiro (NPR)
SHAPIRO: OK, so you've spent your career creating television without Al, and I could imagine today you thinking, boy, I wish I had had that tool to solve those thorny problems...
SIMON: What?
SHAPIRO: ...Or saying...
SIMON: You imagine that?
SHAPIRO: ...Boy, if that had existed, it would have screwed me over.
SIMON: I don't think Al can remotely challenge what writers do at a fundamentally creative level.
SHAPIRO: But if you're trying to transition from scene five to scene six, and you're stuck with that transition, you could imagine plugging that portion of the script into an Al and say, give me 10 ideas for how to transition this.
SIMON: I'd rather put a gun in my mouth.

The ranked choice strategy their electorate is aligned on is we prefer any of these 3 over the incumbent. There's a huge diversity in the order people will rank them because of how different they are.

I've ranked Frey in prior elections bc I was dubious about rounding out my ballot with a crank. Won't surprise anyone that I haven't included him this year. I've seen too much. Even if you can't "not rank Frey" I hope you examine your options and drop him as low as you feel comfortable.

Were we this helpless when we were learning? This feels egregious. We're so busy teaching this generation knowledge, we forget to teach thinking.
