Haven’t gone through it all but Tidal sent my rewind. Seems about right I guess.

Surprised to see morbid angel there so high but that’s probably because this is just tidal and I listen to Bandcamp almost as much.

One of the most important biases to account for when studying humans, their behavior, and especially *performance improvement* is Goodhart’s law. When we make a metric a targetbit ceases to be valuable as a metric. Humans will always game systems for rewards and especially to keep their jobs.
Very interesting Gelman blog suggesting that a good amount of the "Mississippi Miracle" is selection bias (holding back lowest performers, who then don't take the 4th grade test) rather than improved learning

This is a great one. Cate Blanchett might be the best answer. For my part I don’t think anyone’s been in more good movies than Willem Dafoe. Cry Baby, Last Temptation, Wild at Heart, like ten Wes Anderson movies, American Psycho, Finding Nemo.
This is a Bill Simmons game, but you’re stranded on a desert island. You can only have one actor’s filmography. You get it all, including cameos. But just the one performer.

I’m taking Cate Blanchett: Talented Mr. Ripley, LOTR, Life Aquatic, Black Bag, Tár, Ponyo, Hot Fuzz, Eyes Wide Shut, Thor

En solo 15 minutos de adquisición, contamos 1659 trazas de satélites (unos 400 individuales).

Started the Ken Burns American Revolution documentary last night. As a big Sevens Years War was the real big deal guy, was disappointed they dispensed with that in 15 minutes.
But I bet a lot of people learned for the first time that George Washington fired the first shot in a global conflict

"Surely a quick, violent, successful war of aggression is just what the ruler needs to shore up his legitimacy," said just about every failed monarch in history shortly before invading Serbia.
Creating a military conflict with Venezuela gives this administration a legal "hook" to invoke the Alien Enemies Act. In other words, the foreign war is being manufactured in order to facilitate court deference for its domestic mass deportation policy. It's a Stephen Miller Special.
