Because “vote for the lesser of two evils” has reversed nearly all of the policy gains of the 20th century over the first quarter of the 21st. That strategy clearly isn’t an effective one. It’s time to throw it out and try something different.

At some point, something actually has to change. Either Dems have to actually fight for the things they say they stand for, or their voters have to stop enabling them to attain power without feeling a responsibility to use it to advance that platform.

I have been voting for Democrats for my entire adult life, because their party platform aligns more closely with my values and priorities, and I have watched elected Dems at every level vote to obstruct and reject that same stated platform, often calling it unreasonable, while enabling atrocities.

Actually incredible to try to use this line against voters who want to hold elected officials to literally bare minimum standards of moral responsibility.

Maybe ABC, CBS, and WaPo like being denounced by the White House, at least a little, because they can use that to say they’re not biased in Trump’s favor despite all the objective evidence that they are. Good point.
I think they probably welcome it. They're all hopelessly biased in Trump's favor but having the WH call them out as somehow being "anti-Trump" is brand management for them

The White House’s new anti-media website includes denunciations of:

-ABC, which bribed the president
-CBS, which bribed the president and moved away from fact-based journalism trying to appeal to him and his fans
-WaPo, which spiked a Harris endorsement and tilts coverage in Trump’s favor

Fools.

This always ends with "and so you should stop having standards"
There is an extraordinary sense of entitlement behind the belief that there ought to be political party that aligns 100% with your own opinions.

ICE will continue to exist because Democrats are deathly afraid of being painted as "soft on crime", Hegseth will go back to Fox or get a seat on some board, Israel will continue their genocide, disappeared people will remain disappeared. The environment will keep collapsing.

Dems tried to let the soldiers who participated in this week’s double-tap missile strikes on civilians know they had an out. Now at the first opportunity those soldiers will be charged with war crimes & Trump’s people will hang them out to dry. This is why Dems said they could refuse illegal orders.

I honestly couldn’t give two shits about what this guy does next.
When a cancelled performer reënters the culture, we expect them to offer us a great work, channelling their newfound clarity into the finest art they’ve ever made. With his new comedy show and début novel, has Louis C.K. met the bar?

Louis C.K.’s Next Chapter
In a new standup special, and a début novel, the comedian navigates murky, post-#MeToo terrain: not quite exiled, not quite welcomed back.

no instead of spending time on the interesting ideas of all the people who didn't do these things, we have to watch the people who did these things get like eleventy chances to redeem themselves because the media wants us to

what if redemption was actually just letting someone else have the chance

our media is so obsessed with the five famous assholes who unapologetically fucked up instead of all the people who didn't

what about everyone who doesn't "need" a second chance because they didn't expose themselves or assault anyone or move a former student into their house right after graduation?

I realize I hate the Whatever Podcast not only because they‘re a bunch of insufferable self-righteous misogynist pricks who get off on scolding and shaming women, but also because their logo is a shameless ripoff of Cheap Trick’s merch.

This is the same same pernicious lie that surrounds the end of World War II and the “defeat” of the Nazis when the reality is America just allowed them on board and only killed a handfu allowing the rest to disappear into the four winds or some suburb outside nyc.

We capitulated with that white ethno state and ended reconstruction early due to white power terrorism all so Jim Crow could be king for a century or more.

Trump is an outgrowth of that failure to meaningfully hold anyone accountable after hundreds of thousands died to do so.

I'd say this was paranoid except just this week a shooting was used to justify halting all immigration and they are openly calling for white supremacist "remigration". However awful you think these people are, they're worse.
Creating a military conflict with Venezuela gives this administration a legal "hook" to invoke the Alien Enemies Act. In other words, the foreign war is being manufactured in order to facilitate court deference for its domestic mass deportation policy. It's a Stephen Miller Special.

If all communism did was remove the vast wealth and power a handful of impossibly rich assholes have to spend on ridiculous, poisonous horseshit they inevitably use to discipline labor, it would improve life in ways that would seem positively miraculous
A study by Dayforce shows 87% of executives use AI for work, compared to 57% of managers and just 27% of employees.

I think this explains the massive disconnect we see in how CEOs talk about AI versus everyone else. It also raises the question of how useful it truly is for frontline work?
