TRUMP [after spending 5 minutes with Zohran]: surplus value, it’s a very wonderful thing, very wonderful, and they’re stealing it. Can you believe that?

We’re going to be looking very strongly at the bourgeoisie, what they’re up to

But yeah the formula is “I used to do sports! But now I can’t do [basic activity of daily living]. I have tried graded exercise therapy and was concerned when it didn’t help because I want to be Productive Under Capitalism!”

it's weird to live in a world where a new 'worst thing you've ever imagined' happens at least a few times a month and it's easy to let it all run together and just sort of wash over you and go totally numb to all of it so you don't freak out because you still have to do laundry and go to work.

We’re watching a shift where AI simulates the cohesion and reinforcement that used to require an entire online community. A single person can now build a complete parallel reality with nothing more than a prompt window. Which seems bad.

there was a big stooshie years back about prisoners getting "flat screen TVs" so the local prison here had to pay through the nose in order to acquire some of the few remaining working CRT televisions it could locate, far more than the equivalent cost of basic flat screens, just to avoid bad press
I recall an Express or Mail front page 20 years ago about prisoners being lavished with brand new mattresses, beds and sheets worth (large sum of money). Hundreds of words of squawking MPs and Taxpayer’s Alliance spokescreatures later, the prison said: “We have to buy new beds every decade or so”.

I’m in my mid-forties and, during my entire adulthood, the relentless haranguing, stereotyping, scapegoating, chastising, bullying of Muslims has been a central part of British public life.
Cannot adequately express to outsiders how insane it is to think the UK is characterised by "Islamoleftism". Just, absolutely, not a thing, not at all representative of our governing ideology, nor of the ideology of the left factions that exist as any serious presence within our politics.

There's a song whose lyrics involve being in a cab in New York (Brooklyn specifically iirc) and whose narrator says she was up until late on day n, immediately clarifying that this entails being up until early on day n+1. What is this song?

Let's start with the obvious point. Don't use a technology whose purpose is to enable employers to get rid of workers so they can use an app to do the same job badly. Workers like . . . graphic designers for instance. Next, when using a selection of images, VARY your images. Total rookie mistake. 2/
