After working with hundreds of young afghans attempting to rebuild their lives in the US, all I can say is that I'm surprised their suffering hasn't gotten national attention sooner. I know a dozen guys with almost identical stories to Rahmanullah. We've fucked them constantly since summer 2021.

TikTok just served me up a 1977 Little House on the Prairie episode where a Native American boy starts attending the one-room schoolhouse and like. It’s still problematic by today’s standards but all but turns to the camera and says “the moral of this episode is don’t be racist”.

I maintain that WaT is where BrandoSando realized that of all his main characters, there was one that he had not really Put Through It™ during the first 4 books, and that had to be remedied, so we got “Adolin Kholin’s Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Week”
I still think it’s very funny we all opened up Wind and Truth like “okay what contraption is BrandoSando going to put Kaladin in this time” and he’s just like. on a nature walk with the bros.

God help me, I'm gonna actually defend "AI" a bit here: this stuff is like tracer dye revealing how corrupt and decrepit so many of our institutional processes already were long before this garbage came along.

it’s fun that we met our freshman year of college because I can know for a FACT that we learned about Frank Lloyd Wright in our art history class and Kya has NO reason to confuse him with Andrew Lloyd Webber despite the fact that I just did effectively the same thing
