Just imagining if Rachel Reeves had ended the budget yesterday by suggesting that everyone should go down the high street and put a flutter on the horses and also Rachel Reeves owned a chain of betting shops called Reeves Bookies

My nephew is 7 and he's always loved dinosaurs, til his parents told him he's too old for them and other kids might make fun of him at school for it so theyve deliberately pushed him towards 'normal' stuff, and so last time I saw him he declared "I don't like dinosaurs anymore, I like HARRY POTTER!"
So many men go through life like that. You can play poker because it's right-coded, you can't enjoy fruity alcoholic drinks because they're women-coded, you can't lick an ice cream cone because it's gay-coded. All day, every day, choosing and judging things based on coding for narrow norms.

I think at this point if you're including Diane Abbott - a woman who has never held government office, has been a backbencher since 2020, and is scarcely a government ally - on your list of political wrongdoers, we all know exactly what your real concerns are

I contend that if minidiscs had supported MP3 rather than just Sony's weird proprietary audio format they wouldn't have immediately died off as soon as the first 64mb MP3 players came on the market
Minidisc was arguably the most stylish piece of personal tech ever created.

"It is against the TOS to be talked into suicide by our LLM" is possibly the most evil tech bro thing I've ever read
Additionally, OpenAI argues its not liable because Raine, by using ChatGPT for self-harm, broke its terms of service

Lilt was the best, but in the UK at least they just rebranded Lilt as Fanta Pineapple & Grapefruit
I miss Lilt. It’s weird there’s no equivalent of Lilt in the USA

Elon's "Rosebud" is posting. His deepest desire is for everyone to tell him what a hilarious and clever poster he is. The problem is that he isn't funny. And it kills him.

It explains why he bought Twitter. It's why Grok is the way it is. And it explains . . . whatever the holy hell this is.
Everything about this might be the saddest thing I’ve ever seen

Seeing how much of the right-wing on Twitter is just bot farms, kinda lays bare how much hate and hatred is a project that needs to be constantly maintained, a fire that needs to be fed all the time lest it go out for a moment, so much time, effort, and resources to keep people angry and hateful.

Why not just make them yerselves and fully avoid the genAI stink that's now attached to yer game?

This baffles me, man. I find it hard to imagine folk lovingly crafting every single part of a game except this one wee thing.

The real and true story of why Police Squad (the TV series Naked Gun was based on and easily the funniest tv show of its time) was canceled is legitimately insane and one of the most egregious examples of TV malpractice I’ve ever heard:

There is a post circulating on Bluesky encouraging the moving of a frozen turkey straight into a pot of hot oil. We are combating this misinformation the best way we know how - through the power of dance music.
