Yes, please. But it's the Democrats. Do you really expect them to do this?
So Samuel Alito may retire this summer. Remember all the things we’ve been saying about Senate Dems denying unanimous consent to bring the chamber to a total halt?

Well, that’s when they should use them.

Block ALL confirmations. Including the new Trump SCOTUS nominee. Stop the Senate completely.
So @elienyc.bsky.social and @strictscrutiny.bsky.social have speculated that Alito may retire soon. I agree. Elie lays out the case here—it'd be odd to release a memoir in October if he's (a) still serving and (b) unable to promote it because he's hearing arguments. www.thenation.com/article/poli...

he really really said this???
theyre scared of women. especially women of color.
Fuentes, yesterday: “Our #1 political enemy is women because women constrain everything, every conversation, every man, everything. They have to be imprisoned. They are the ones that are hurting the fertility rate. They're the ones making us sympathetic to poor people, which are also brown people.”

Like the "war" in Gaza
i am increasingly bothered by terms like "showdown" or "face-off" or "clash" when used to describe corrupt and fascist power coming up against resistance because there's an implied symmetry that does not exist.

Christ this is grim.
“Four of my children just evaporated,” Badran said, holding back tears. “I looked for them a million times. Not a piece was left. Where did they go?”

There are no words to adequately describe the evil here.

Yea, if we had a functioning press. Or a real opposition party.
But I'm grateful that @schumer.senate.gov is earnestly negotiating to get the t's properly crossed.
I keep thinking about the pile-up of inexcusable offenses—a living president of the US naming things after himself while lining his pockets, masked alleged law-enforcement thugs prowling the country—any one of which, you'd think, would bring down an administration.

(Yes, Captain Obvious here.)

What Minnesota has done is show the rest of the country - and the world - how to come together and organize and fight Trump's fascist, masked goon squad. It's been truly inspiring to watch.

And to be clear, this was in the occupied West Bank, not the occupied-and-genocided Gaza Strip.
"A 14 yo wounded by gunfire lies on his back in an alley.... A large group of soldiers walks around him or stands nearby.... At times they glance at him, but usually stand close without looking, as if an object rather than a human being were lying on the ground."

The average public school in the U.S. has 500 students. ICE is currently detaining over 7 schools' worth of children, many of whom are being held in inhumane conditions.

Children do not belong in government detention.

Spanberger is a moderate Democrat who used to work for the C.I.-fucking-A. It should put the actions of Schumer and Jeffries into perspective for everyone. Are they Republicans? Because they sure act like it.

They need to get the fuck out.
NEW: Abigail Spanberger this afternoon ordered that all state agencies leave ICE's 287(g) program.

This means that the state police (and some other agencies) will no longer be empowered to detain and arrest people for ICE.

Big, big move by the governor within weeks of coming into office.

Abigail Spanberger left the 287(g) program, which empowered state law enforcement to detain immigrants. Will Democrats also bar local police and sheriffs from the program?

But why didn't they mention the blowjob he got from the 13-year-old who he then slapped?
The New York Times did a deep dive into the latest files tied to pedophile Jeffrey Epstein on Sunday and found that the name of the guy who raped and killed children appeared in more than 5,300 of the documents.

The Epstein files show a clear pattern of proximity to power. The vast majority of names are white male billionaires, yet authorities are profiling and terrorizing minority communities. If our safety and that of our children were the goal, white male billionaires and their power would be the focus.

I visited hotels all over Minneapolis, went into back rooms & talked to the staff.

They're afraid.

One told me she resents how her undocumented coworkers spend their days cleaning the rooms of agents who are “hunting down their family members.”

Just reading through the Epstein emails and thinking about the notion that "MeToo went too far." How about we put all the world's men on a remote island and have them justify re-entry into decent society one by one, judged by a jury of women? That would be far enough.

yea, just like the headline about how the White House and Minneapolis officials were "still disputing the facts" of Pretti's murder.
Whether it's a Hillary Clinton staffer asking John Podesta how to make risotto or Elon Musk asking Jeffrey Epstein where he could find a party featuring child sex slaves, there's plenty of embarrassing emails on both sides.

Is really no one going to talk about the Epstein post in which Trump got a blowjob from a 13-year-old and then smacked her?? I just can't even.
January 31, 2026 at 7:30 PM
And what is anyone going to do about it?
It’s pretty fucking wild that the DOJ is releasing files that include accusations that the President of the United States raped underage girls, to distract from the fact that the DOJ is covering up murders of US citizens by their own government.
