My big hot take on piracy discourse is that it’s too complicated for blanket statements but not actually hard to navigate. Struggling to eat? You still deserve art. Is the artist struggling to eat? They deserve whatever art budget you do have more than megacorps do. You’re smart, figure it out.

Good lens/starting point for the larger conversation we need to have about the mindset that children are tools for their parents' self-actualization. It's especially galling presented so nakedly and as a solution for men's problems specifically, but it's normalized in more subtle ways all around us
really is incredible how often "men are having a problem, let's fix it using someone else's entire life" comes up. does the institute for family studies understand that children are whole complete human beings whose existence cannot be used as a coping mechanism for their fathers' anxieties? (no)
