Have you read Shuzo Oshimi’s Blood on the Tracks? Blew me away. Genuinely unsettling and emotionally lacerating. Physically affected me several times. Somehow both lurid and thoughtful, loud and quiet. Does more with the subtleties of facial expressions than I realized was possible in the medium.

I remember her analysis and was really surprised when Hazel recently seemed to come to basically the opposite conclusion about his recent output/vibe. I’ve never watched any of his actual stuff so I have no opinion of my own
