Trump showed that they can win without having go give ground on anything. That the hands of the clock can in fact be forced backwards.

Trump is viewed as a messianic figure for the right because it very much appeared that they would have to make peace with losing on every single social issue.
Leftists think that no leftward progress has been made in the past few decades so they're blind to how APOCALYPTIC the last few decades have been for the right.

This is why leftist analysis of the right fails. They attribute everything to "economic anxiety" instead of bigots seeing their world end.
This is the crux of the bargain white ppl made voting for trump & the gop. "Rid us of brown ppl & make white ppl the majority again & we will sacrifice our jobs, savings, homes, and even children." They 💯 factored in those losses & decided it was worth it. That's why nothing else he does matters

The end of Jim Crow. Roe v. Wade. Same-sex marriage. Obama. Young leftists see these things as normal and don't realize there are people who remember a world before it.

If you're an older leftist you've lived through the revolution. If you're an older rightist, you've lived through the apocalypse.

i'm wondering when the bigger dissident right-wing guys are going to feel brave enough to start advocating against interracial relationships on main

can't keep that rhetoric contained to just immigrants; the internal contradictions are too strong and eventually the cuck brainworms will take over
the whole concept of "white genocide" is very funny because unlike a regular genocide where people try to butcher you with machetes or gas your family in white genocide your cousin marries an Indian guy

Our immigration policy is now based on what Stephen Miller assumes are the inherent racial qualities of each group: Chinese people and Asians are untrustworthy and suspicious; Latinos are criminals and drug smugglers; black people are stupid and lazy; white people are hard-working and virtuous.

Apparently every Chinese academic in any field of “interest” to the PLA is getting their visa rejected for, more or less, presumptively being a spy. My friend’s visa is denied because she studies “neuroscience.” What she actually studies is jaw pain - but ICE is flatly rejecting all appeals.
Just got the word that the Trump administration is throwing a brilliant medical researcher friend of mine out of the country because they’re Chinese. Insane and unreal. Literally doing research in the US to help the US

which i think is what trips many "it's not fascism!!" commentators up. they are trying, but they have not succeeded. i think it is bad enough that they are trying. that alone is worth fighting.

anyways. we see this on full display in Trump II, at least in attempt. the aesthetics are undeniable. equally undeniable is their failure at mass mobilization at anything like the scale of the third reich. they are trying, but they have not yet succeeded.

this is not an aesthetic accident, but core to the whole project. fascism is an attempt to update atavistic forms--visions of societies as biopolitical communities competing for scarce resources in a zero-sum world--with the essentials of modern power: technology and mass mobilization

How to do a facism:
Step 1: Fire most of the competent people.
Step 2: Alienate your own military by making them do stupid stuff and having them take the blame for it.
Step 3: ???
Step 4: Become God-Emperor of Mankind

The best way to understand the current regime is that we're effectively being governed by an unofficial, extra-constitutional junta mostly dominated by Miller, in which Trump himself is a marginal and disengaged figurehead making few if any substantive decisions.
it is the worst of all worlds. a "unitary *presidency*" insulated from judicial or congressional power and a weak president unable to do the job of governing

One of the things about trust is that it is efficient. It saves you having to invest a lot of time and effort in verification, and if placed in the right places, saves you a lot of pain.

"The diseases will do the education" is what we get when we don't trust.

so there just isn't as much need for these paranoid excavations of "evil amongst us," the evil has just made itself highly obvious, they have flags and slogans and a political party in charge of a country. woke 2 is about power: how do we gain it back and what do we do with it after.

Woke 2 is distinctively an ideology of Trump II, when we no longer need to go looking for some hidden enemy, no longer need to work to uncover the infiltrators and the enemies hiding their power level

the enemy is out in the light and screaming about how much they hate us, there is no mystery there

here's my take on Woke 2. the thing about Woke 1 is that it's born from the end of history era, when it was important to re-discover forms of oppression that had been denied or hidden. but this led to a [clears throat] hermeneutics of suscpicion, and ultimately paranoia and internecine factionalism

If we’re going to make post-Trump constitutional changes, I’d prefer something like this - drawing a bright line under certain executive limitations that were presumed to exist before Trump, separating the DOJ further from the president, limiting pardons, and killing unitary executive theory dead
I wrote my anti-Trump constitutional amendment. Honestly, a fun exercise
