The fact that Mamdani is not being hailed as the blueprint by national Democrats is such an indictment of the party. His entire platform and messaging boils down to (1) genuinely caring about people and (2) being willing to *actually* fight to protect them and make their lives better.
Mamdani: I am in support of abolishing ICE… I'm tired of waking up every day and seeing a new image of someone being dragged out of a car, dragged out of their home, dragged out of their life.

Minneapolis and Saint Paul have basically mobilized into a war economy of mutual aid and non-violent defense. I’ve never seen anything like it, even during Covid. People who barely vote are guarding their schools from ICE and doing the shopping for neighbors in hiding.
This is so smart. I’m so impressed with all the different ways you’re helping your neighbors.

Got pepper sprayed this morning. Was blowing my whistle *several* feet from ICE agents, and one yelled I was obstructing and came at me. I turned away and he reached around to get the pepper spray under my glasses and shot directly into my left eye.
I'm okay. Just truly incandescently enraged.
