I need everybody to read this and understand what’s going on. These are spouses of US citizens in the country legally. They have entry clearance and green cards, they’ve passed background checks and have no criminal records. ICE is taking them anyway.

One of the most important things we can do to put a stop to this is to ratify the international criminal court treaty and subject the U.S. to ICC jurisdiction. It becomes a lot easier when we don’t just rely on political actors in the moment to prosecute these crimes.

the only reason it doesn’t seem like an issue to most people is because most people don’t see what accommodations for the elderly look like these days. even the very expensive old folks’ homes are disgusting and understaffed. this problem is bad now and will only continue to get worse
The part that fucks me up the most is every part of this looks set to get worse over time, not better. Forcing higher numbers of an aging population into smaller and less safe accommodation in more obscure and less resourced places over time. If it doesn't seem like such an issue now, just wait.
