This was a really good video about the wrangling to bring rapid transit to the Montreal neighbourhoods that need it the most!
It looks like Montreal is spending money on a train for the sake of having a train. At this point they should just invest the billions into bonds and use the interest to run more and better bus service and end up with a better outcome.

All those pre-1975 apt buildings are (surprise!) now 50y old; many need lifecycle replacement of systems; piping is end of life so new risers, plumbing, drains; new HVAC, windows and envelope; these are known and predictable costs that require investment. Good time to reduce energy needs 1/
