Outfit shopping for the No Kings protest this Saturday.

Pick me a winner.

Sean Duffy: "The No Kings protest, Maria, really frustrating. This is part of antifa, paid protesters. It begs the question who's funding it."

Some work has nominally begun at the Rideau Street end. It’s still partially open for pedestrians between Rideau and George.

What are we all spending our ANTIFA paycheques on this week?

William St is one of the main pedestrian access points into the Byward Market. For the last 2+ years the drain covering - which has key dates in Ottawa’s history incorporated into it (leading to the time capsule) - has been patched with asphalt, cones & steel plates. Is this now a proper repair?! 🤞

The Paula-D making its way up the locks. Cue the draining of the canal. (As a kid I thought this would reveal all sorts of sunken shipwrecks - the reality was loads of traffic cones that’d been tossed in over the course of the summer).
A white tour boat named the Paula-D navigates a canal lock surrounded by lush autumn trees and a grassy area where people are gathered enjoying a sunny day.

Cobalt Ave is in the process of getting sidewalks on BOTH sides replaced. I know nothing about anything but those sidewalks seemed in far better shape than some of the others in the neighbourhood. Got me thinking what’s the process for determining when a sidewalk gets a patch vs a complete refurb.

Something’s going down in the Glebe - lots of police cruising about and looks like they’ve blocked off Powell between Bank & Lyon.

Great 🧵, worth the read. What’s been done at Lyon/McLeod is absurd.

I head again today from Ottawa By-law, they're no longer accepting reports for illegal driveway expansions or hardscaping or front yard parking. Apparently there are only 4 officers for these zoning issues and there are far too many reports than they can keep up with. They need more resources.

This giant skeleton set up in front a house in the Glebe is giving off some big time Halloween vibes.

"Her house arrest sentence shows that in Canada blocking roads is only a crime if you have the wrong politics"

THE CONVOY TOOK OVER DOWNTOWN FOR THREE WEEKS.

THEY TOOK THE WHEELS OFF THEIR TRUCKS TO MAKE THEM HARDER TO MOVE.

PRO-PALESTINE PEOPLE GO HOME AT THE END OF THE DAY.

IT'S DIFFERENT.

If Metrolinx’s involvement in the construction of the Eglinton Crosstown is anything to go by, it *will* only make things worse.

The sign says ‘No event parking’ but the QED is still jammed with cars trying to park at Landsdowne. YOU CAN’T PARK THERE, MATE!
In the foreground a sign reads ‘No event parking’. In the background a line of cars waits on the QED trying to get into Landsdowne to park.

IF ONLY THERE WAS SOME OTHER WAY! (Bumper to bumper traffic on Bank Street headed to Landsdowne - yes, those are PARKED CARS in the right hand lane!)
Traffic backed up on Bank Street headed towards Landsdowne. The left hand lane is bumper to bumper while in the right hand lane there are two parked cars.
