For background on this aspect of project 2025 and the decades building up to it.
Ever since Fulton was decided in 2021, the right has been accelerating plans to dismantle protections for LGBTQ young people in adoption and foster care. In 2023, this kicked into overdrive after Biden announced new guidelines. Now Project 2025 aims to repurpose these systems as tools of conversion.

Yesterday’s executive order is about 10 months later than expected but on target to do exactly as predicted. It will fully reverse protections enacted under Biden, and resurrect church-run, faith-based systems like we used to have before public social services.

The hardest part of all of this is knowing this is not the worst of what we are going to experience as a country.

Trump is supported by evil people. When he dies or even if he is voted out by some miracle, evil like that being unleashed again will take generations to bed down. If ever.

Lots of buzz about the "affordability agenda," and how we get there.

Well, this is it. Housing and transport are most of the cost of living for most people. We can make it expensive, or we can make it affordable.

No car? No problem. Building apartments near public transit could help address the housing crisis

Awful: Trump's boat bombings are now being justified by a new legal memo that relies on WH's own determinations as evidence. Memo also says people can't be prosecuted for the killings. But that reveals WH knows there's legal vulnerability here, Ds tell me.

A new White House memo argues that those carrying out the boat attacks can’t be prosecuted. Why? Because the White House says so!

Another way to reduce electricity prices? Shifting from for-profit, investor-owned monopoly utilities to municipal utilities or member-owned co-operatives would save about 15% on electricity bills, averaged over locations and customer classes.
8. For-profit utilities charge 14% more (13.3 c/kWh, 2023 average) than cities (11.7 c/kWh) and 16% more than rural coops (11.5 c/kWh). This trend is accelerating: For-profit utility prices rose 2.7 c/kWh from 2019-2023, 225% more than cities (1.2 c/kWh) and 270% more than coops (1 c/kWh).

The wealthy need people to clean their homes, work in their factories, and satisfy their sexual needs with or without our consent, that’s why they want to keep the rest of us poor.
I sometimes feel like they don’t want to end poverty or reduce inequality because they believe they’re entitled to a class of people they can prey upon

as I said before, everyone keeps dancing around the fact that this is open nativist blood libel. This is how you legitimize mass dispossession, en masse, of an entire sub-population of a nation. And this is now an institutionalized belief in ostensibly the most powerful org in international finance.
