Mike Schultz is a piece of shit.

“Representation” = “eliminating the representation of Democratic voters.”
"A lot of people have framed this as a power struggle between the legislature and the judiciary. That isn't what this is about. This is about representation," Speaker Schultz says.

He insists the legislature represents the people and its their power to redistrict. #utpol #Utah

Public land grant universities with a mission to serve the residents of their respective states are the great economic equalizers. So of course Republicans and billionaires want to destroy them. 😖

Everybody involved will need to go to prison and if democrats in congress don’t have the stomach for punishing these people they should just resign now.
DOGE was created for data theft and infrastructure dismantling and it wildly succeeded on both counts within the first few weeks of its existence. It will take a generation to rebuild what it destroyed and the breach of data is unprecedented.
Bye bye, “DOGE”.

It no longer exists as a “centralized entity”, according to the Office of Personnel Management.

Gemini doing green-red overlays and shit microscopy. Can't wait for the 2000s revival in papers
I tried an even harder example on Gemini Pro image generation and this is quite scary/amazing. I asked for a microscopy image of around 20 HeLa cells, GFP tagged 20% nuclear, 10% membrane, +1 nuclear staining, + overlap. Image below and prompt in the following post.

It’s widely known (and, I think, pretty uncontroversial) that learning requires effort — specifically, if you don’t have to work at getting the knowledge, it won’t stick.

Even if an LLM could be trusted to give you correct information 100% of the time, it would be an inferior method of learning it.
Relying on ChatGPT to teach you about a topic leaves you with shallower knowledge than Googling and reading about it, according to new research that compared what more than 10,000 people knew after using one method or the other.

The College Republicans have recruited a girl with a puppy and are now joking about how it’ll be hard for people to “call us fascists now”

Nah I still can. Fascist morons.

pretty much

I have some non-negotiables (such as trans rights) but my number one issue in the next D primary is “will you actually fight back”

if any moderates are on the fight side of the fight/don’t fight axis now would be a good time to demonstrate it
I would vote for a moderate if I thought they would end the filibuster, pack the court, and use every lever available to them to keep the GOP out of power. if the leftists are the ones promising that, I'll vote for them instead.

One reason why elite schools (Columbia, Brown, Cornell) caving to Trump’s illegal impoundment and extortion is so galling — a betrayal, really — is that they would have won had they fought. By giving up, they guaranteed every other school will have to fight harder.

I was Today Years-old when I realized that simply holding the cap of a glycerol stock cryotube for a few seconds loosens it up so you don’t like, sprain and freezer burn your hand trying to get it open.

to think of all the effort wasted unnecessarily!
