That is the main objection to LLMs. It is the technological extension of James' theory on assholes: A technology of little use, that few people actually want, being pushed on them by people who get mad when you complain about it.

Anyone calling for a return to normalcy without consequence needs to have their career ended immediately so we can get people in office willing to do what is needed, which is to build a new and better normal, having disarmed and defunded the corporatist fascist occupation of our government.

since the "google is now training gemini on your email contents" thing keeps bumping around here: it's _not happening_. I say this not to defend google but because I know a lot of people that have broken their filtering and made their lives much more annoying from sheer misinformation.
The malwarebytes Google opting-your-emails-into-ai-training thing is not true. The post is based on one bad tweet.

I know anti-tech lamenting is a Bluesky core principle, but please use the same judgement you would for any other clickbait.

this is trash and I don’t think it’s even electorally worthwhile trash

Relying on ChatGPT to teach you about a topic leaves you with shallower knowledge than Googling and reading about it, according to new research that compared what more than 10,000 people knew after using one method or the other.

one of the big lessons re conservatives and especially conservative christians is that they are more satisfied by being comparatively better off than others rather than being better off in absolute terms.

they’re perfectly happy to lose if you lose more.
There are a lot of conservstives screaming "THIS IS WHAT GOD WANTS" as their lives get measurably worse.

This President and his entire administration have proven themselves completely unfit to govern. It is the power and the duty of Congress to impeach and remove the president and any of his officers who are failing to faithfully serve the people of the United States.

It is wild that Trump is literally calling for members of congress to be put to death and no one is even introducing an impeachment resolution right now.

If Dems in Congress do not demand impeachment every day until it happens, they are NOT doing everything they can. Trump is not only delusional, he is dangerous.
A Trump supporter started murdering his way through an assassination list of Democratic law makers FIVE MONTHS AGO. He murdered my colleague Melissa Hortman, and her husband Mark — and attempted to assassinate my dear friend John Hoffman and his wife Yvette. I was also on the hit list. WTF

I know that at this point it's a subplot in the Epstein files drama, but I feel compelled to point out, once again, that Larry Summers HAS NO BUSINESS teaching students at ANY university ever again!

Why Is Larry Summers Still Employed?
The revelations about the economist’s attempts to pressure a women into a “relationship”—with guidance from Jeffrey Epstein—should finally disqualify him from teaching students.

It is EXTREMELY way past time for people to stop saying "the economy" when they mean "the stock market."

The stock market is fully divorced from reality. It does not represent anything meaningful about the actual standards of living.
one factor in the Harris loss was the Democratic party bragging about the great economy when it was actually complete garbage outside the artificially juiced stock market, and I don't expect that tactic to work any better for Trump esp with a much worse economy

My belief is only someone like Trump can really plausibly take the fall for this in a way that will remotely stem the outrage brewing. I'm not even sure it will be enough (if it is is dependent on us).

But the whole system is indicted and none of these people want to face the music.

I have some non-negotiables (such as trans rights) but my number one issue in the next D primary is “will you actually fight back”

if any moderates are on the fight side of the fight/don’t fight axis now would be a good time to demonstrate it
I would vote for a moderate if I thought they would end the filibuster, pack the court, and use every lever available to them to keep the GOP out of power. if the leftists are the ones promising that, I'll vote for them instead.

I dream of a day when corporations have to reapply for every tax break, contract, and grant every six months, with a requirement that it is the CEO who must complete the paperwork, and attest under penalty of law that they personally did so.
The shutdown was an excuse, not a reason, to go after SNAP.

SNAP recipients have to re-apply either every 6 months or year. Onerous process, with almost no fraud.

There are no shutdown-related requirement for SNAP renewal. But it would predictably result in low-income families going hungry.
Brooke Rollins says on Newsmax SNAP participants will have to re-apply for the program.

Details are still unclear.
