We are living through a lot right now—collectively and personally.

In a time shaped by uncertainty, violence, and grief, it’s okay to feel worn down *and* still reach for moments that help you breathe.

Joy doesn’t betray our grief.

Grief doesn’t cancel our joy.

Another mass AI surveillance law being pushed under the guise of "protecting kids." The fact that Dems continue to push this moral panic garbage to enact mass surveillance & censorship is abhorrent. We need to kill these laws that harm kids and destroy privacy! spectator.com/article/ther...
Everywhere I go, parents tell me their concerns about the impact social media is having on their kids.

I’m proposing the Children’s Social Media Safety Act — a commonsense measure to reduce the harmful effects on kids, improve their safety and privacy online, and prevent scams.

Now we just need colleges and universities to explain why they complied in advance and to put the programs back and make them better. I know, I know, we will be waiting a long time for them to have some integrity. Thanks tho ACLU!
BREAKING: The Department of Education has ended its directive that attempted to restrict diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in schools nationwide.

Removal has a budget.

Title IV-E foster care funds are uncapped.
Prevention funds are capped.

If separation is easier to fund than rent support, what outcome do you think we get?

Follow the money.

This is the kind of thing white supremacists have been doing to Emmett Till’s memorial for decades.

It’s wild to see them do this to a white woman who the entire world saw extrajudicially murdered.
Someone doused Renee Good’s Minneapolis memorial and a nearby pile of wood with gasoline and started a fire at about 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Damage was minimal but police are investigating.

Keep putting pressure on! Shame they from selling property for concentration camps!
The third one this past week, (Oklahoma City, and Kansas City) where property owners backed out of the sale - anticipating community backlash.

The current person in charge of ICE's procurement for detention is a GEO Group executive who ran the company's immigration detention portfolio. He was granted an "ethics waiver" from DHS allowing him to hand out contracts to GEO in his new role.

If there is anything I try to practice, model & teach my students, it's to read generously. We don't have to rush to the critique. That is not to say ignore the places it can be improved-Sarah Lawrence Lightfoot asks, "What is good here?" and I think that should be our leading question

There is no drawdown. There is no retreat. ICE is just redistributing their assets to better avoid accountability.
The same day DHS announced the surge would end in Minnesota, ICE activity increased in small towns
The less densely populated areas outside the Twin Cities make it harder for protesters and observers to organize.

The drunk uncle theory.

You don’t argue with the casually homophobic uncle at Thanksgiving dinner to change his mind; you argue so that the closeted cousin at the kids table knows there’s safe people and better possibilities out there
agree with this (hah) but also think a particular mistake the left made for a long time online, and still makes to an extent, is failing to understand that the person whose mind you may actually change is the one reading the argument you're having, not the one you're arguing with
The secret to engaging in social media debate is knowing you will never win anyone over. The best you can hope for is to have people who already agree with tell you you're awesome. You might great a dopamine thrill from the righteousness of your anger! Fine benefits, all. But you will never win.

Essential 🧵 for everyone who cares for kids, parents and educators especially.
Hey friends.

We need a quick refresher on what discipline actually is. I keep seeing folks ask “how do ppl discipline if they don’t spank their kids”.

First and foremost, spankings is a cruel punishment, it’s not discipline. Let’s start there.
