Here is a thread about a true police-shooting incident that I'm going to use to pose a fun little thought problem for anyone anywhere who think there ia a single justifiable reason to ever allow a law enforcement officer to use force on a citizen and remain anonymous. From my back pages:

but to see a woman say with kindness "I'm not mad at you" before being murdered by state authorities, who have now gone on to claim her killing was just and right, and we're here making the case she was acting with righteousness and killed unjustly

this is just Martyrdom

"The Home Secretary can revoke your citizenship for non-criminal activities" is such a dangerous line to cross and I feel like I'm going insane that the supposed natural party of government doesn't see an issue with this

One of the biggest issues I have with turning people into AI is consent and the second biggest issue I have with it is the outsourcing and loss of every human experience to it and the sheer creepiness of it all

just riffing on this, in 1944 my grandad's friend Paddy, who would go on to become a very distinguished writer, kidnapped a German general in occupied Crete and took him up into the mountains with a resistance team, from where he was sent on to the UK by submarine. Now, up in the mountains ...
there is not any particularly strong evidence that study of the humanities make people good people. the elites of many brutal empires were extremely well-read!

Kind of hard to process how bad it is for the party of labour to say that some labour is basically useless and can fuck off
Hey everyone, here's the news, if you aren't a high earner, entrepreneur or a "skilled frontline worker" (whatever the fuck that means) the "Labour" Party says you aren't contributing, you're a taker!
This is so disgusting.

I can’t work out why the defunct publishers didn’t just crowdfund the debt owed to the authors from their mates, by working like dogs to persuade generous people to help out, you know like the authors did in the first place to raise the money that was stolen.
Crowdfunding idea: I crowdfund the extra deposit I need to buy a house. But the only people who contribute to the crowdfunding are the CEOs of my defunct ex-publishers. The target will be the exact sum of money my defunct ex-publishers still owe me for the seven books I wrote for them.

The sheer greasy desperation from these bastards that any violent crime is committed by an immigrant so they can continue their grift. Even when they know it isn't true. Foul.
Matt Goodwin attributes a crime that he now knows appears to have been committed by people born in Britain in the early 1990s to "mass uncontrolled immigration"
