Clair Obscur winning GOTY shows that people will stop caring about genAI in games as soon as it's in a game they actually like. You can't rail against ARC Raiders and Where Winds Meet and then turn around with Clair Obscur and go "well actually..."

looked up the etymology of "doujin" and it literally means "same-person", as in denoting shared interests amongst people, while "indie" is short for independence, for solitude and iconoclasm.... really makes you think (smokes bubble pipe)

I don't consider "it's gay" to necessarily be a selling point, but I've played enough surrealist indie games where the narrative turns out to be a strained allegory for the straight male developer breaking up with his girlfriend that at this point I get redflagged by even a whiff of heterosexuality.
