this is a really solid game by generations of sega arcade alumni, by their own description "sega rally + outrun 2 + initial D". as a multiplayer kart racer experience, beats the hell out of mario kart world

couple rts ago about the "you need to keep up with me or you're part of the problem" as self-preservation; i felt this way when everybody made the bluesky move and said "let's leave the toxic drama obsession behind", and so many of the big tastemaker accounts proved they couldn't function without it

i think commentariat discourse distorts this stuff so the framing does sort of become "LISTEN, if you AREN'T listening to [whatever extremely bad opinion], you're DOING YOURSELF AND SOCIETY HARM" because it's rather about partisans arguing for their place in visible society than inspiring growth
