Oldhead otakus seem to really enjoy my work and that makes me happy. I have a lot of respect for people that jumped through so many hoops to engage with something they're passionate about. The internet made things easy, anything I could ever want to draw influence from is at my immediate disposal.

From what i've watched, Sonic Crossworlds racing is great n' all, but damn I would much rather see some deep-cuts versus guest characters.

Im obsessed with the love theme from house (1977). Its a japanese take on a john lennon piano ballad. The way the melody is structured is drawing from traditional japanese music and I find that kinda cool. Even though it sounds like them the beatles never would have written something like this.

Should I release the soundtrack for the razing core demo on bandcamp? I was going to wait until the full game comes out but its inconvenient to not have a real way to listen to the music outside of the game

As incredibly written as akumajou densetsu is the sound design is kinda basic and not mixed well. Even though it doesnt have as much polyphony I feel like Castlevania III is a better representation of the OST.

I kinda hate the term "quarter munching design" in general because the phrasing itself is pretty derogatory and its always used to blanket an entire style of game as "poor design" when theres no such thing, only different kinds of players. I know lots of people who like arcade style games like that.

And before someone says rental difficulty that wasnt a thing in japan, games produced there were made harder when they were brought over and vice versa with western produced console titles.

Its weird people use "quarter munching design" as a critique when talking about older console games because the company that made it already got your money when you bought the game. Their best interest is in the consumer at that point and not arcade operators.

I think people need to stop holding fangames to such a high standard. These are projects being made for free entirely in peoples free time and out of passion for a franchise they love and I think its unfair to hold them to the same standard as a professional commercial game release
