For someone (like me) still holding on to some concepts from The Forge in the 00s, that's a very refreshing take
This article (by @lumpley.bsky.social) on Conflict Resolution & Task Resolution (and other kinds!) is SO GOOD.
I just read it and have to share!

If you're a #gamemaster or #gamedesigner in the #ttrpg space, do not miss out on this concept:

RuneQuest and the world of Glorantha have had many highs and lows. After flying high in the 1970s, it looked like the 1980s might be even better thanks to a business deal. But in some ways, the game would never recover.

A great post, worth reading for anyone who missed it, just like I did - even though I don’t really agree with the conclusion

I didn’t have time lately to look through the stuff I’ve go, but here are some new(ish) #TTRPG releases that arrived for me in the last few weeks.

Not sure when I’ll have time to read them, though!

How Jennell Jacquays rocked the dungeon design world, continued from part 1. In part 1 we talked about some major premade dungeons that predate Thracia and what each added to the craft. Let's now move to how Thracia both combined and completely evolved these concepts.
Early this year, we lost Jennell Jacquays. To just say that she was a TTRPG and video game designer would be doing her contributions a disservice, but that was my main intersection with her legacy. I want talk about why, historically, her work was such a blessing to dungeon design🧵

A 25% tarif? That will increase the price of approximately 85% of all TTRPGs, and that's accounting for people switching to US printers.

The Wizard of Oz had the ideal D&D party composition:
• character whose entire personality is having a pet (human ranger)
• character that makes more sense in another setting (warforged fighter)
• a furry (tabaxi bard)
• character who wanted to play as a monster (scarecrow)

Questing Beast/ Ben Milton / the Knave guy is now being sponsored by a publisher that had a "Meltdown sale" to celebrate 'triggering the libs' after the US election; 47% off (and, side bonus, AI image to advertise).

This is not his first foray into this shit. His defense is "No Politics"

I definitely cooled down on lethality, but telegraphing danger does a trick for me.
I've tried several different solutions for lingering injuries including those by Skerples, as well as stuff taken from several OSR/OSR-like games, and nothing really worked long term
