I swear that some days I am tempted to liquidate my stock and close up business given the state of international commerce. Shipping goods to the US or Europe is absurdly difficult and the razor thin margins certainly don't help.

Yup. Here is another lovely example of the evolutionary, refinement of game design. The section of Daggerheart titled Pitfalls to Avoid is remarkably useful and a clear sign of effective playtesting. Show people both the best practices and the mistakes folks make.

I can't believe it took me this long to figure out why Daggerheart felt so familiar. It is basically a highly evolved and refined version of Dungeon World. PBTA foundation for a D&D type of gameplay. The stat blocks finally made it connect for me.

I have finally gotten to the excellent section after the replay where the designers ask GMs to consider whether all example gm made the correct rulings. Excellent pedagogy that helps GMs understand how many rulings are typically done by the GM. It echoes Blades in the Dark and Apocalypse World.

I have to say the layout choices in the Daggerheart example of play are excellent. It is a little thing but putting all the mechanics as little boxed callouts within the replay format is quite helpful.
