IKEA is on the boycott list. Don’t support genocide, don’t waste your time in traffic to help pay for unaliving babies

📺 Auckland and Northland
📢 🧵 We’re expecting extra congestion on State Highway 1 over the next few weeks when IKEA opens on Thursday 4 December. It’s going to be busy around the Mt Wellington Highway on and off-ramps, and on local roads in the Mt Wellington area.

Happy Birthday to the legendary Billy Connolly who turns 83 today, and who from a young age realised the importance of #Libraries.

'When I was an unhappy little boy, going to the library changed my life. It may even have saved it.'

Happy Birthday Big Yin. 🎉🎂🌟❤️

Big Tech is so unregulated. If any other industry was creating products so faulty and so destructive, various agencies would be under pressure to rain down hell. But not with social media or AI. Laws around under 16s regulate US not THEM. They need to be regulated. It’s insane behavior.

Gonna be so hard for such an idiot-sandwich-buffet of intellectually bankrupt bad faith lazybrained statements to be understood as anything but asserting white supremacy over the curriculum.

This year I've been teaching on the UoA Waipapa Taumata Rau course. It's been infuriating to see it attacked and misrepresented by ACT and NZ Herald. Alison Jones' piece gives a clear account of what it is, what it isn't, and why it should remain a requirement e-tangata.co.nz/comment-and-...

This is blatant political interference in rge New Zealand Curriculum that shouldn't be tolerated.
Education professionals should be deciding what is in the NZ Curriculum, not politicians from 8% parties pandering to the worst of NZ society to the detriment of our students.

Looks like I'm going to be doing what generations of Māori parents have done - giving history lessons at home that completely contradict what's taught at school.
I had hoped I wouldn't have to do this but then this Government came along...
I'm reading the new Social Sciences curriculum content and I wasn't prepared for how sad I would feel. We spent thousands of hours working with the previous iteration and the NZ history content and all that enthusiasm and excitement was just killed for something so bad.

Please please folks check your vaxx status & that of your kids. Measles is not “just a childhood illness”; before vaccinations it killed and disabled millions of people every year. Remember, your vaccine doesn’t just protect you, but those too young or too immunocompromised to be vaccinated.

“Politically motivated strikes” gotta be the funniest phrase I’ve ever read.

WHAT LED TO PEOPLE NOT GETTING PAID ENOUGH AND WORKING CONDITIONS BEING SHIT EH?

Was it fairies? Gnomes perhaps. Everything is fucking politics. They think we are stupid.

Genuinely curious at the idea of a non-politically motivated strike.

Wages, hours, and conditions are inherently and inextricably political.

What “non-political” motivation could there possibly ever be for a strike?

These are not necessarily long-term, permanent jobs. They are predominantly seasonal workers, short-term contracts, not a long term well paid career.

This policy is just making it easier for employers in primary industries to exploit our young people.
Luxon told Morning Report

"If you go outside of Wellington, to Hawke's Bay or go to the South Island... The primary industries are crying out for young people to come and join those sectors and those jobs," Luxon said

What happens if you don't want to work in the primary sector Einstein?🤦🏻‍♂️

Public libraries have increased (free) access to digital content in unbelievable ways.

Streaming audiobooks, video, movies, tb, games... it's not just e-books any more.

And let's not get started on the tool and 3D printing and audio recording resources they share too!

If you're sick of this government and this absolute race baiting bullshit and attacks on Māori across the board - vote in your local election and vote to keep Māori wards.

Your council is ONLY having a referendum because this government is forcing them to.

How embarrassing if they all get kept.
