For DECADES now we have inflated the egos of techbros into the sky & beyond.

We elevated them as geniuses & visionaries. It's our job now to deflate those egos & bring these jerks to heel. Knowing how to code or get VC funding does not mean you know anything IMPORTANT about how the world works

The problem with having a crafting hobby is you will have THINGS.

Bits of things, big specialized things, tiny bags of hard to get things, drawers of tools just for the things, half-completed things, duplicates of things you ordered because you forgot you already had those things, SO MANY THINGS

Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?

I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

Yeah sometimes it looks like my friend took a picture with their Mom but then it turns out the Mom is my friend and the young one is the kid who used to be a baby . . . ?

And some of the kids I knew are having babies of their own and it isn't a scandal, but just . . . normal?

I have reached an age where I when I am forced to check Facebook for something or other, I can no longer tell which pictures are my friends and relatives and which are their adult children.
