Hi All, free weekend update is out. This was the best week for Ukraine/Europe since November 5, 2024. The new US Security Strategy confirms without a doubt that Trump is out to attack Europe (and cripple Ukraine). After months of a con, the truth is undeniable. open.substack.com/pub/phillips...

There will be plenty of time to be sloppy in your unsuccessful marriage 🥰
my actual dating advice to young men is 'tidy up before a girl comes over, be interested in things woman are interested in, learn to listen, and above everything else *have female friends.*'

The AI apocalypse continues. The amount of collateral damage from AI is truly staggering. This is not likely to end well.
Crucial is shutting down — because Micron wants to sell its RAM and SSDs to AI companies instead. It’s already getting hard to build an affordable PC, and the exit of the longstanding provider of consumer memory is going to make that even more challenging www.theverge.com/news/837594/...

NEW VIDEO: Big business is a death cult worshipping a many-faced Techno God. In an industry full of takers who want to eradicate the makers, so-called AI promises a nonsensical fantasy where games are made for free and sold to a world of laid off former workers. It is unhinged.

Hi. As a language professional, let me assure you, knowing an alphabet does not mean you can actually communicate.

Thanks for coming to my Ted talk!
Not sure this tell me much one way or the other abt the larger political/societal debates about AI. But this fascinating science. Working of scientists believes they're now able to decode or understand the language of sperm whales using AI/LLMs. www.nytimes.com/2025/11/23/o...

The people in charge of these companies hate their customers.
"Every other company is doing it, and charging cheaper prices for localization. If we don't do this, we will go under."

"Audiences don't care that much about quality. So if we can meet the bare minimum and save money, that's best for everyone."

"Have you run the numbers though? Are you suuuuure?"

The ideal situation for the managerial class is that you little piggies will just eat your slop and like it, and avoiding thinking of its contents, whether its nutritious, or if it has any resemblance to actual food.
It’s infuriating to me that I need to evaluate media to determine whether it’s AI generated now. The great “time saver” technology wastes incalculable time and energy for people who want to retain their grasp on reality

I struggle not to feel creatively disingenuous if a single line of dialogue is edited by someone else, and that’s an inevitable part of my job.

Anybody who can feel proud of what they’ve “made” using a plagiarism laundering device is someone who hasn’t got a shred of respect for their own ability.

And yes, I am going to be denigrating and insulting in my descriptions of any developers relying on AI to have their creativity for them.

It’s inherent plagiarism, environmentally destructive, and it’s being used to REPLACE GAME DEVS.

To use it is to be a traitor to your own profession. Fuck you.

For fuck’s sake.

For a studio that was once part of Grasshopper, seeing the Let it Die team crawling around in the AI filth hole is particularly fucking sad. Never thought I would see people with that kind of creative pedigree become embarrassing fucking hacks.
