Mexican president Claudia Sheinbaum condemns the US invasion of Venezuela and kidnapping of its president out of fear that the US may also violate Mexican sovereignty & Trump then tells Fox News that “something is gonna have to be done” about the Mexican President too.
Trump says "something is gonna have to be done" about Mexico and President Claudia Sheinbaum in response to a question about whether the Venezuelan strike was a "message" to her government.

Corporate media appears to be under-reporting or not reporting the mausoleum strike—a media victory for Trump because it at once hides a war crime, hides a fact that debunks Trump’s claims of this being a law enforcement op, and hides a key Venezuelan justification for vengeance.

Reasons it’s ok to forcibly remove a president, according to the US president:

- doing crimes with family
- targeting vocal opponents
- domestic use of security forces
- humanitarian crisis denial
- weaponization of Supreme Court
- dismantling democratic elections
- ruinous economic policies

the question of what is or isn’t a “distraction” from which other thing gets thorny and complicated and risks minimizing some crimes because of their proximity to other crimes when they’re all equally evil, just different flavors. but this is sort of how the pattern seems to manifest itself, to me
like to say “he’s bombing Venezuela as a distraction from the Epstein files” doesn’t feel quite accurate because he’s so driven by immediate impulses that things are rarely that tactical; but I think it excites him to be seen as a War Leader and he will go back to that well anytime he feels weakened

Venezuela is a sovereign country, not a non-state actor. It is not developing any offensive capabilities that would threaten US safety. There has been no argument to Congress—the only entity that can declare war—that the United States must undertake military operations. This is beyond illegal.
Every representative, regardless of party. There’s a tendency to assume that Republicans are unbothered by public opinion. But if your federal representatives don’t object to this, they object to their own existence. There’s a non-partisan reason to reject this, and we should argue it.

Make masks FIT and FREE! As we experience a record breaking flu surge and the ongoing effects of COVID, now would be a great time to ramp up efforts to make high quality N95 masks free and widely available. Really wish free mask distribution was a regular feature of progressive events for example.

It should be bigger news that the world’s first soon to be trillionaire has created a chatbot that is undressing women without consent.

Grok is even undressing children.

Musk created it. He’s aware it’s happening and he’s doing nothing to stop it.

Every media outlet needs to scream about this.

I'm old enough to remember when smoking around others was socially acceptable, in restaurants, bars, workplaces etc. Secondhand smoke was everywhere.

We changed norms once we accepted that shared air = shared risk.

Republicans excusing Trump’s crimes as a legally adjudicated rapist and his 15 year friendship with convicted pedophiles and child rape traffickers isn’t surprising. They are, after all, the descendants of white Americans who founded the U.S. on genocide and slavery. Thomas Jefferson raped children.

As a society, we can easily provide for everyone.

The top 1% and those in power are choosing not to.

They want you to believe people must “earn” their right to housing, food, healthcare & education.

No one should have to “earn” those things.

They’re basic human rights.
