I feel like if you’re in a US grocery store buying Mexican adjacent food, it’s a huge red flag if there is absolutely no Spanish on the label. All of the decent tortillas, salsa, etc, are going to have at least some Spanish on the package.

The history we learned growing up really did us a huge disservice by focusing so much on Nazis that unless the details are spot on exact, we don’t recognize any other types of fascism, authoritarianism, or far right ideologies.

I mean really who cares if non-citizens vote? Definitely seems like people who live in a given place should have a say in how it’s run. Not temporary visitors or tourists, but certainly anyone who owns or rents a home, has a job, or registers a car in a jurisdiction should be able to vote there.

Trumpism is a personality cult. This is bad because the cultists have no loyalty to anything beyond Trump and no principles outside of pleasing Trump. But it also means Trumpism is unlikely to have much force without Trump himself.

Fundamentally, the world Trump wants to conserve is one where being rich means you can basically do whatever you want with no consequences. To the extent he has an ideology, it’s that rich people are superior to poor people in every meaningful way.
