something i'll note is that if nuzzi ran catch-and-kill ops for rfk jr and lizza knew this prior to him being appointed as HHS, and instead of telling anyone, he decided to save it for his substack long after rfk jr had made communicable disease into federal policy, that's completely fucked

When will be finally get it together and make a statutory distinction between infrastructure permits for projects that pollute our water, soil, and atmosphere versus projects that have the potential to safeguard the future of human civilization? Pipelines and renewables shouldn't be treated equally.
huge news: a key house committee just advanced a major bipartisan permitting deal that would block future presidents from rescinding permits for political reasons

good for anyone who wants to build renewables, bad for anyone who wants to block pipelines

Never forget, car dependency is the opposite of freedom.

What’s more “free” than cars, you ask?

Choices.

The important thing is not whether the Trump performing sexual favors for Bill Clinton thing is true. The important thing is that we all pretend it’s true, and that someone asks Trump about it every day.

NPR reported this morning that, based on their review of the #Epstein emails released yesterday, Trump’s name appeared more than 1,000 times in the document—

"I have met some very bad people, none as bad as #Trump. Not one decent cell in his body." - Jeffrey Epstein

it‘s misogyny to say the New York Times killed Epstein stories
"I'm a rando who prefers to believe that everything is a conspiracy and am happy to tell women that I know better than she does how their literal job works" That a news org makes an editorial decision you wouldn't (or I wouldn't) doesn't mean someone is killing a story on behalf of a powerful person
"I write for the New York Times, and I can assure you that we've never buried stories on behalf of powerful people, many of those powerful people being part of NYT management. We only publish what's fit to print, like Zohran's application to Columbia that was leaked by a white nationalist"

To recap: Jeffrey Epstein offered a NY Times reporter photos taken in Epstein's kitchen of Donald Trump and girls in bikinis *and* implored the NYT reporter to put this information in the public discourse in 2015

What did the NY Times editors know about this offer?
“would you like photos of donald and girls in bikinis in my kitchen?” -Jeffrey Epstein

Maxwells compliance with Trump also has to be viewed through the lens that Maxwell could reasonably assume that Trump ordered that Jeffrey Epstein be killed while he was in prison.
“The President sent his lawyer to negotiate a settlement with a convicted sex trafficker to provide cushy accommodation in exchange for her silence on his participation in said sex trafficking” is a cold description of the facts of an insane story that the media doesn’t find worthy of scrutiny

The thing about Mamdani is that he’s a talented politician but not otherworldly or one in a billion, he’s just a competent guy with popular ideas who ran against an entitled piece of shit and to me it’s a lot more optimistic to imagine 1000 campaigns like his than to view him as a unique phenomenon

It will never not be compelling to me that the same people who produced Goldeneye - a fun, campy Bond in which Bond is both younger than he was in Licence to Kill but also apparently was around in it, also said “you know what Bond needs? Lore!” in the 2020s.
“It’s impossible to reboot Bond” says production team who decided Bond first got his licence to kill in the 21st Century, as Daniel Craig, then got incredibly old within two films and was being put out to pasture, but also had Sean Connery’s 1960s car.

It’s Bond. Just do whatever the fuck you like.

"In the last Bond movie he was played by Sean Connery how are we going to get around the fact that this time he'll be played by Roger Moore"
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."
