Where is the business community and corporate leaders of Minnesota based companies in speaking up? Why aren't the big law firms sending lawyers to represent the people being attacked?

We are not at the end of this authoritarianism, we are at the beginning. And, sadly, we are on our own.

ICE agents killing people in the streets. The naked extortion of a sovereign state. The National Guard unleashed in American cities. The Justice Department weaponized to prosecute political opponents.

The tyranny is on full display — and it's waking America up.

A new proposal to rewrite San Francisco’s charter is raising alarms among democracy advocates. Critics say the SPUR-backed “Charter for Change” masks an agenda that strips away long-standing checks on executive power under the guise of efficiency.

Reporter: We have 3 videos, 2 breathalyzers, 4 bartenders, and a minivan full of nuns attesting to how the driver was drunk and reckless when he hit the school bus.

Weiss; What did the driver say.

Reporter: He and his lawyer won’t talk. We asked them 5 times.

Weiss: I’m killing your story.

I survived the SF blackout. Lanterns and candles and a whole lot of pissy near the end but thank goodness it wasn’t cold today. I was decently equipped but could use a backup power bank for next time. People in earthquake zones should have them anyway.

I said “let’s clean the air, wear masks and other prevention stuff to protect people from bugs”…

Society said. “We prefer dead kids.”

Mainly because dark money convinced people that going back to “normal” was important, no matter how bad it was.

1/ It was the height of the pandemic, but Phoebe Putney Memorial had good news: At 99 years old, Maude Burke was the oldest COVID-19 patient they were discharging.

In a video, staff waved balloons, celebrating Burke beating the disease.

There was one issue: It wasn’t true. 🧵

Missouri just fucked so many of us on our student loans. I didn’t ask to be put on the SAVE plan but I did ask to be put on the REPAYE plan and everything was fine and now it’s gone. The settlement explicitly removes the REPAYE plan and our only hope is that the court rejects it.

Medicare for All would save $450B a year.

Every dollar spent on food stamps generates $1.50-$1.80 in economic activity.

Each dollar going to low-wage workers adds $1.20 to the economy overall.

It’s not about what this country can or can’t afford.

It’s about priorities.
