I was explaining to my kid's friend that I used to play bar trivia in my teens and they asked how I could be in a bar by myself as a teen. One of my kids responded "Wisconsin is weird" so they are fully trained.

There needs to be consequences for publishing lies.
1) Bruce Harrell is mayor. Why is this article framing a problem as the responsibility of the mayor-elect, rather than the existing mayor?!
2) Wilson did not promise to "end sweeps." This is a lie. Printing lies is propaganda, not news.

The death of browsing is part of the reason art is the way it is now. Our opinions are largely fed to us by algorithms. Spending a spare 15 minutes wandering around a bookstore or comic shop or video rental place was how you found stuff you wouldn't ordinarily pick up and thereby expanded your taste
Bookselling is like the most "people go to the store and buy what looks cool to them without a particular agenda" type business left, and your purchases have a huge influence on what is ordered, what is displayed, and what is recommended.
