One thing I hope people take the time to acknowledge: The sea change in public opinion has been achieved because violence, though encourage by a lot of people here online, was never once employed by the movement. Violence was solely the purview of the state and that is why the state is losing.

America has a housing shortage. Every single housing proposal you see that is not "build more housing" will have the primary effect of pushing up the prices of existing housing, and is therefore, in reality, a plan to enrich current homeowners. In conclusion, build more housing.

0 issues with this whatsoever. We loved Rodgers yelling I fucking own you to the Bears. He talked shit all year, and backed it up. There's only 1 way to shut him up, win. Rivalry is back on in full effect. I hope everyone in the Packers building is taking notice
Bears head coach Ben Johnson asked about "F the Packers" in the locker room: "There's a rivalry that exists between these two teams, something that I fully recognize and am a part of. I don't like that team. George (McCaskey) and I have talked and we're on the same page."

I understand why they would keep MLF, and I won't be mad if it happens...but I don't see how you can look at the dichotomy of what a team like CHI looks like because of the culture and buy in the coach creates, and the personality and culture of your own team...and believe they turn it around

Finally, it's wrong AS A MATTER OF ETIQUETTE. Entering a total stranger's discussion and leading with your private anxiety is as off-putting in social media replies as it would be in real life. If you wouldn't interrupt a stranger at a party to announce that America is doomed, don't do it here.

One thing I'd love to see on this platform is a teeny, tiny more self-awareness that this platform (which I use!) is *wildly* unrepresentative of broader popular opinion and concerns.

I know people on this website are likely to be more amenable to this than I am, but I want to stress that institutional investor purchases of single family homes are a microscopic share of the market and so you’re basically not gonna see material changes in home prices from this
TRUMP: I AM IMMEDIATELY TAKING STEPS TO BAN LARGE INSTITUTIONAL INVESTORS FROM BUYING MORE SINGLE-FAMILY HOMES

why I've become against 'directionally correct' lies. you can't control where this shit goes. here the misapprehension that defense is half the budget is being used (not by OP) to partially *justify* invasion and imperialism. I know it kinda sucks to be the 'actually' guy, but the truth does matter
I had an old post on Twitter about this. The US spends about 18% of its GDP on the social safety net and 3.5% on military. Germany spends about 24-25% of its GDP on the social safety net and 2% on the military.

Our military spending is not why they can have nice things or why we don't.

On the day Vince McMahon resigned in 2022, Endeavor/now-TKO President Mark Shapiro privately anticipated he'd be back and possibly sell WWE.

Liberty's Greg Maffei later called the merger “pre-wired.”

I don’t really like that we’ve taken the problem of “girls disproportionately suffer from body image disorders” and tried to even it out on the other side
Never stops annoying me that we get endless handwringing about how unsafe and untested lething trans people have hormones or puberty blockers while there's a fucking billion dollar industry hocking testosterone supplements and steroid injections to insecure teenage boys without anybody giving a shit

There’s a certain kind of liberal nonprofit advocate that ultimately doesn’t really believe a better, more just world is possible so they decide legalized traffic violence to save some hypothetical marginalized person money is the absolute best we can do.
The California ACLU is staunchly opposed to the ignition interlock device program and is a big reason that it has not been expanded. Despite the fact that California heavily subsidizes the cost for low-income drunk drivers, the ACLU says that the program is a form of "racialized wealth extraction."

None of us are made safer by deporting a 19-year-old, law-abiding college student who was returning home to Austin for Thanksgiving. Ignoring a federal court’s order, ICE wrongfully rushed to deport her in order to meet the Trump regime’s quota. Any Lucia’s nightmare is our community’s loss.
ICE deported Austin college student at lightning speed to circumvent courts
Legal experts say Any Lucia Lopez Belloza's case reflects a broader pattern of fast-tracked removals under the Trump administration.

Yeah, one of the many nightmare scenarios facing us is that a badly led and mostly destroyed intelligence infrastructure fails to prevent a major terrorist attack and that attack is then used as justification to speed up the fascism.
I do in fact stay awake at night sometimes thinking about how the MAGA ghouls are destroying actually-essential counterterrorism efforts in favor of directing resources towards brutalizing elderly taco truck workers
NEW: Oregon could lose nearly $18 million worth of terrorism prevention and emergency funding.

In the past, the money has paid for bomb detectors, law enforcement training and barriers that prevent cars from plowing into crowds.

The obsessive wokeness panic is about elite labor market competition and prestige. People use a lot of fancy words to obscure this, and offer some substantive criticisms as well, but that’s ultimately its driving force.
