Okay so you know I like to remind everyone how the American immigration system has been cruel for a very long time. But loading people on flights to deport them to countries that they are not from, like Iranians to Panama, is not business as usual.

It would be a shame to encourage folks to use banned book lists to do strange things like
-check them out regularly at the library
-request the library order them if they don’t have them
-buy them
-start or support banned book clubs
-organize a banned book kids story time
A real shame

Report: You Live In An Embarrassing Country
I see a lot of trans folks scared that we're going to be exterminated right now. And you're right that they're going to try.
So I want to say this: they tried before, from 1981-1989.
And for most of you, every moment of queer joy you've ever had came in the shadow of that last effort to kill us.

I understand why these stories exist but it’s important to be clear that he’s not “saving” 16 billion, he’s choosing, personally, without oversight, to wipe out 16 billion dollars of government services to veterans and the disabled and food safety etc etc
DOGE says it has saved $55 billion in federal spending so far, but its website only accounts for $16.6 billion of that
