I refuse to die until I get to see Stephen Miller humiliated as publicly and devastatingly as possible. It is the most important thing in the world to me.

Stephen Miller and Russ Vought are the two pure ideologues driving the agendas of white nationalism and destroying public services, respectively. They need to be the top political targets. Saying “Kristi Noem must resign” is a sideshow. Prosecute the whole cabinet later, sure, but please focus now.

Fox did big purges of the more credible (for fox) reporters after the 2020 election and replaced them a bunch of gop campaign/trump admin types, Sean Hannity’s longtime exec producer runs the digital operation.
Then there’s…this. This is a news article, not an op ed. I reviewed Fox’s December 2019-March 2020 COVID coverage in their online news section and it didn’t throw in shit like this, even since then they’ve deteriorated

My general metaphor is this: America has an angel on one shoulder that says, 'We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal with certain inalienable rights'; and a devil on the other shoulder that says, 'Whites only.'
Liberalism should always be talking in terms of patriotism and flag and the American revolution. We should wrap ourselves in the flag because we are the only movement in America that truly embraces the IDEALS enunciated by the founders. FREEDOM. LIBERTY. That’s left, not right.
Looks like we get to reclaim this flag! I’m glad about that because it always looked cool.

Did anyone actually vote to have masked Federal agents hold US citizens down and shoot them in the back?

So much of this regime's playbook recycles Kremlin tactics and rhetoric.
Putin pioneered this. No opposition is legitimate. Regular, decent, “ordinary” people cannot possibly be against us because only we represent “the real people.”

Tell-tale sign of authoritarianism.

i think this attitude — that all opposition is illegitimate and nothing we do can be questioned— is probably pervasive in the white house and helps explain why they keep making terrible political choices

Solidarity, particularly across race and class, is Kryptonite for authoritarian regimes. They can only thrive when their us v. them framing is adopted by society at large, and they join as active or passive collaborators with the regime. So the only response they have is to raise the cost of unity
They are telling us in unequivocal terms that if you show solidarity with immigrants who are in the literal crosshairs of Trump/MAGA, you're risking a death sentence.

I would be very surprised if a full accounting in the future didn't reveal more than one mass grave at the detention centers. If they're behaving this way in public, what's happening out of sight must be many times more brutal.
Imagine what’s happening in the camps.
Imagine how much they’d be lying about what happened without all the videos showing it from multiple angles.

I have spent my entire adult life being lectured by Republican politicians and conservative legal movement types about how important it is to preserve the sacred constitutional right to self-defense of *specifically this person* and then secret police murdered him in the street
Minneapolis police chief Brian O'Hara says that the victim was a 37-year-old white man and US citizen with no criminal record and that he was a legally permitted gun owner.
