Go away Mr vice president
How's your non-violent working Mr Gandhi stancil? They will kill each and everyone of you right if they had the chance and you will still be writing Kumbaya.
Observers have been working day and night to protect these neighborhoods from ICE, make the streets safe so kids can go to school and people can go to their jobs. Burning down the street undoes all our work. The people setting fires haven’t been putting in long hours watching plates or doors.

It's become clear that Avatar: Fire and Ash won’t come close to matching the enormous amount of money Avatar 1 and 2 made, so some superfans are calling on each other to return to the theater for a repeat viewing — although others aren't thrilled with the idea. https://t.co/8oo36f6fOg

US sports commentators when talking about US players: “her great grandmother is from a small county in Alabama where she ran the school and baked pies for the entire church on Sundays”

When talking about foreign players: “she’s from… over there. Did you know that they speak English over there too?”

so I guess in Mamdani's press conference, he told everyone to stay home and take a nap or maybe check out Heated Rivalry because the it's available to anyone with a library card right now from the NY public library.

WELCOME TO THE CULTURE.

Sooo, I had an adventure last night. I thought I was in the clear on frozen pipes but no, and one burst. So, I'll have to repair that, too.
I have edited my Ko-Fi goal to reflect the fact that these temperatures are kicking my house's ass and this coming bill is also going to suck so bad. I know it's coming for most of us, but if you got extra, you'll have my thanks.

All the anti-war and anti-occupation protestors were right. All the far leftists were right. All the “woke scolds” and your friend who’s “too woke” were right. They were somehow even more right than they may have realized at the time. But really, it was always obvious they were right.

“or whatever” is the most chilling shit when talking about two paramilitary executions
Good question Congressman

Let's see. Would we rather live with our hard-working immigrant neighbors or masked thugs who are murdering our friends? Hard choice.

It’s so nice to see as an immigrant that these people are still playing parlor games with our existence
Thesis: ICE is un-American and the Minneapolis protestors are real Americans.

Antithesis: Ackshually ICE is operating in a long American tradition of racist terror.

Synthesis: Minneapolis is now the epicenter of a clash between two distinct but historically grounded American political traditions.

i think this attitude — that all opposition is illegitimate and nothing we do can be questioned— is probably pervasive in the white house and helps explain why they keep making terrible political choices
Putin pioneered this. No opposition is legitimate. Regular, decent, “ordinary” people cannot possibly be against us because only we represent “the real people.”

Tell-tale sign of authoritarianism.

the smartest thing to do right now would be to make a show of disciplining some ICE agents and quietly pull back from minneapolis. the president offers his condolences and maybe even makes a direct donation to the family. you fire bovino and replace him with someone more quietly depraved, etc.

ICE is murdering people in the street and the Times’ resident conservatives are droning on about the totalitarian threats to speech coming from the campuses and “managerial illiberalism.”

They’ve been stale for a while, but this focus is embarrassing as a tyrannical state kills people.

Remarkable that they'd put it in writing like this but ICE is very clearly a mob enforcement racket
Pam Bondi's conditions for Minnesota: 1) give us all your state data on your food programs, including SNAP 2) repeal all your sanctuary policies in the state (since it has led to "so much crime and violence") and 3) hand over your state voting rolls. Letter here: www.fox9.com/news/minneap...

Yup. This idea that lynching is fine but not for certain people is an old rot we need to purge
Too many people are ready to put the victim's lives under a microscope instead of demanding the state answer for the crime of murdering people. I know anti Blackness is at the root of this poisonous tree, but I want people to let go of the idea that an agent of the state has the right to execute
