This is the major museum in my state, by the way. I used to have to walk past it every day to get to uni. Everyone knows it for the big dinosaur statue and the whale hanging in the entranceway. And now it's a propaganda outlet like everything else

“Kill all boats no matter where they are going or what they possess” isn’t a strategy, it’s just a killing spree
WELKER: Is there any hard evidence showing this particular boat was headed to the US?

TOM COTTON: That didn't come up in my briefing

WELKER: Are you comfortable having the US target a boat that you're not sure is heading to the US?

COTTON: I'm not just comfortable with it -- I want to continue it

There's no excuse for ProPublica's position on this issue. We need a fair contract, with real job security and GAI guardrails, now!

It's simple — @propublica.org workers should not be replaced by artificial intelligence. Our contract proposal specifically says that generative artificial intelligence ("GAI") should not be used to replace employees. Management struck out this entire section in their response to our proposal.

It's hard to pick from the rogues gallery of murderous ideas, but sometimes I feel the most dangerous thing about modern conservatism is its transparent desire to destroy the fabric of truth in daily life.

I fully and completely agree with the importance of this but I also believe that we are well past the point of correcting course through diversity here. Companies with more money than most world governments are consistently making choices resulting in measurable harm in service of their bottom line.

The is why diversity is important!! This is why product development teams should contain more than engineers. Representation matters and if anyone in a position to do so would have had lived experience with mental health issues, they would have said something.

Not only are trannies worth fighting for, we’re worth fighting for AS trannies, as what we are right here and now. Not only if we’re part of some other group that matters.

We matter no matter what people think we are, no matter what standards of gender we do or do not meet.
at some point you have to stand up and say "I think trannies are worth fighting for and deserve dignity" and that's the one thing no one wants to actually commit to

So… I think we’re there.
I feel at some point Mr Beast is independently going to reinvent the plot of the running man and Kalshi bets will be the reason why
Wtf are we doing?

This keeps pestering the back of my brain and it's because of how absolutely unthinkingly, gobsmackingly ableist it is. The foundational assumption is that both people with disabilities and high-performing scholars would underperform mediocre cheaters if the mediocre cheaters got extra time.
I think filling the top ranks of our education system with people who got there in part by abusing a system designed to help disabled people will select morally deficient people for leadership positions in our society and is worth taking steps to avoid bsky.app/profile/padr...
I mean if the only risk is some kids getting extra time on tests it seems like not such a big deal

Intentional cruelty at an institutionalized level is one of the things that makes the past such a foreign country to us. But while there may not be any plan to bring back cruel and unusual punishment or slavery, this kind of public celebration of sadism is how you'd get there if there was.

That right to dignity, manifested in respect for the human body, is at the heart of the prohibition on cruel and unusual punishment. And while that prohibition co-existed for some time with slavery in the US, the same right to bodily dignity is at the heart of the moral aversion to slavery.

This is obviously true, but I think there's something more at work on a deeper level that goes beyond Kelly, Gutfeld and the others echoing this sadistic stuff.

Stripping it of all its context, this is simply a rejection of the dignity and sanctity of the human body at the core of human rights law.
There is something very wrong with Megyn Kelly.
