After the 2020 election, Larry Ellison joined a call to strategize on overturning the vote for Trump and donated to election deniers. Now he controls CBS and wants CNN’s parent, raising new questions this week as his influence grows.

Ellison and the Lie
As Larry Ellison’s media empire expands, unanswered questions about his views on the 2020 election now carry real stakes as Jan. 6 is reframed and the next presidential race approaches.

Post a weird little free game that really stayed with you.
It's been almost 14 years but I still sometimes think of Snowdrift, which was a free Flash survival horror game by Placeable about an old man trying to survive alone after the end of the world and scavenging dwindling supplies. Short and janky but impeccable atmosphere. Wish they'd expanded it.

what do you call it when a rogue armed government agency tells an elected official they dont care if theyre breaking the law
Rep. Angie Craig: "We were told because this facility is being funding by the 'Big Beautiful Bill,' not the congressional appropriations act, that we would not be allowed to enter the facility. That's complete nonsense ... I informed them they were violating the law. They said they didn't care."

Grok has not "turned off" its CSAM generator for anyone - it has simply put it behind a paywall.

It is a well-known fact that women aren't interested in historical wargaming, and we only paint fairies and unicorns and princesses.

As proof, behold these four completely blank images that do not feature historical miniatures I have painted.

Fellow femmes, share your own!

This needs to happen, and the only way it happens is if we're prepared to treat as null and void the inevitable blanket pardons. A coherent account of how and why they're invalid, and the political will to do what it takes to make that stick.

don't really think the upper levels of the administration have really grappled with how much fire they are playing with here.
Never mind that this isn’t the definition of doxing in the first place, but you can’t dox a federal employee. If you’re a public servant, your identity isn’t “hidden.” It’s on public records. People can access those public records.

Fascist scum admitting to the organizing principle of Trumpism being rape - a predator force indeed.
Ogles: "It's important that we have a stake in Greenland, that they are quite frankly a protectorate of the US. They've been in relationship with Denmark - that needs to end. If you need protection FROM the United States, they are not your “protector”.

This is Trump’s fundamemtal transfer. He perpetrates rape and calls it “protection."

He has turned the US into a nation of rapists. Because they are all complicit in what they do..

He’s made them just like him—rapists.

This is not a normative statement, but I don't think the US is ready, including materially, to live in a world where its main alliance is gone

It's true for the Trump administration, but it's also true more generally
What I find particularly remarkable is how so much American debate seems oblivious to how much the foundations of US global power is dependent on access to infrastructure, bases and depots in Europe and Canada
Walk through what that 'mask off' world looks like: Europe accelerates rearmament, functioning as an independent power bloc - to which the United States' neighbors, threatened by our bullshit, will want to realign, creating flash-points for potential trans-Atlantic Big Boy Wars. 4/
