Three years into the generative-AI wave, demand for the technology seems surprisingly flimsy
Investors expect AI use to soar. That’s not happening

When the government says they don't want Ireland to be more attractive than any other European country, this is exactly what they mean. The dog-whisltes of Jimmy Goebels and his cronies have been heard loud and clear by the mob, and this is the result.
As of now, there is no condemnation of this attack from anyone - spokesperson, Minister, PR - in government. (This comes after the attack on a Brazilian man, where he was left with bleeding on the brain.) The gov are playing with fire and they know it. Shameful.
Asylum seekers have told of how they were followed by men on motorcycles before being subjected to an alleged attack in rural Co Dublin yesterday.

The incident – which saw the young men beaten and their car windows smashed – has been condemned.

You always reach a point in the brilliant writings of @sarahkendzior.bsky.social when you realise this is what American journalism at this moment should be like, and instead it's mostly bog-standard corporate hackery. And that's the "good" stuff.
"I've written two books about the nexus of government and organized crime. As a result, I live under a double bill of apprehension: They'll catch me too early, and you'll catch on too late."

I just don't need to know what the Telegraph has written about Dungeons & Dragons. It's a newspaper for people who are frightened of samosas.

"Never spread the lie in the headline" should be a hard rule of 21st century journalism.

Research shows that repeating lies helps to spread them, and people read headlines more than they read stories.
News media has to do better with headlines that present false and unverified public health claims.

They should change that to "If I ain't broke, I won't fix it ..."
chatting to someone in the local late last year, before the general election who is my age (late 40s).

She said she was voting Fine Gael because, and I fucking quote 'if it ain't broke'

And there is the problem.

I read the interview with Grah*m Lineh*n in the Observer, and what I came away with that the newspaper believes that there is an acceptable and wholesome level of transphobia, and they will mildly distance themselves from anyone who exceeds it.
