This is something the Nazis used to do to Jewish children in the camps. It happened to a man I knew when he was a child in Auschwitz. The camp guards thought it was funny as hell.
On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

A significant percent of all Bad Politics Discourse is downstream of the belief that Donald Trump is Easy To Defeat, Actually and Dem simply lack the Will and Spine to do it (which bizarrely tends to share brain matter with “President Donald Trump is an unstoppable force” for some reason)
Ill be honest, I dont really have it in me to hate Kamala Harris. Lady got stuck in an impossible situation, tried, failed, wasnt even really her fault, I just can't bring myself to be mad at her about it. Too much else going on to be worth it.

New mutual aid option just dropped (OK, maybe it didn't just drop, but I just found out about it): a direct aid fund run by Shir Tikvah. Takes donations by credit card or ACH.

i will never stop finding it funny that trump supporters who will talk to the press inevitably hope for a trump that does not in any way resemble the person he has always been — this happened the first time, too, though it took longer

Please don't accuse people in knitted hats of only wearing their supposed politics if all you're doing is posting, which is basically just another way of wearing your politics. It's a silly thing to attack people over in any case. Using fashion to signal support for ongoing acts of rebellion is good

The American people as a whole are in a weird place where they're simultaneously hyper-cynical and totally dismissive of the notion there are like 18 different psyops going on to undermine their belief in the concept of society.
Jesus Christ, at a certain point Gen Z has *got* to give up on this weird combination of antipathy and malaise that seems to be the only way so many of them are capable of engaging with politics.
This is a bold position for a voter guide to take

There is a deep irony in the fact that we could simultaneously make things way more liberal than they are while lying to people that we're making them more conservative

"we are cutting foreign aid to 2% of the budget" (this would be roughly a doubling of aid, but people assume it's like ~25%)
One of the most successful GOP lies is that, there is some magic line that illegal immigrants are just cutting to come into the country, and that they only wanted to deport the criminal ones of those, and, A, there is no line, and B, they want to deport anybody that isn’t Lily white. And yet
one area where popularism is most preposterous is where voters are quite obviously confused
