I spent 13 years living my life anxiously wrapped around my dog and now I suppose I actually have to try something new now. In ways, all the other rebuildings were so much less daunting than this one. He was always there to love me through every transformation. I miss you, Laddie.

Very recently I was told it was impressive how I de-escalated an issue on a server I'm on and how many people wouldn't keep their cool and offer ways out of the troublesome conversation the way I did. It made me feel like I was finally living in alignment with my values/chosen career of social work
What is the best compliment you ever received? Putting aside whether or not you believed it.

I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.
