Settler anthropologist thinking about Coast Salish law, the Canadian state, and dismantling the colonial machine. Expect some music geekery, geopolitics, and a weird undercurrent of optimism despite the cynical sheen. This is a personal account.
Well that just made me so very happy. 🇵🇷

We are not the first people, or the first country, to suffer under a tyrannical government that does not respect our lives, or our rights.

There is a method for how to effectively resist, and eventually topple, such a regime. We can learn from others who came before us.

This is my favorite guide.

Did Hockey Night in Canada just play "Got an Idea" by the Monoxides?! Isn't this, like, indie Canadian punk circa 1995?
The only thing more surprising than Hockey Canada playing it at all is the fact that I knew immediately what it was (and all the words).

I don't know who needs to hear this, but cops are not allowed to shoot people just because you didn't do what they said.

That is called murder when they do that.

Some cops are working hard to convince people otherwise.

I am honoured to announce I’ve been appointed as a member to the Order of Canada. Thank you to everyone for the support! I dedicate this to my late Mom who taught me so much about history, local independent media & research. I know that she would be, like me, screaming with joy! #orderofcanada

The cultural impact of Rob Reiner cannot be understated. Legend isn't big enough a word. It goes to 11. You can't handle the truth. As you wish. I'll have what she's having. I'm your number one fan. You guys wanna see a dead body? The very idea of a bucket list. The West Wing.

All from his movies.

H0H 0H0.
Each year, thousands of letters to Santa from around the world are answered.
This is the story.

Carney is clearly demonstrating how the word is seen as threatening to weak men and so he's backing away from it to frame Canada as Serious Business Men Doing Serious Business™️
