I have a new book coming out Step. 23rd! Full description at the link, but my elevator pitch to my writing chat was "what if a guy time travels to the present but he sort of sucks and has to learn how to be a feminist and also he looks like Robb Stark?"

Time For You
No love like the present What happens when a twenty-first-century woman falls for a nineteenth-century man? It’s up to destiny in a witty, captivating, and totally unexpected time-travel romance. D…

Snapewives 2.0: This Time With More Computer has all the weirdness of the original, but none of the "we made this weirdness entirely by ourselves" charm
I'm literally just living a normal life while also experiencing a theophany via communication with the satellite called VALIS.

the idea that a computer generated roast would be legitimately funny is only possible to people who have never had a real friend even once in their life
Everything about this might be the saddest thing I’ve ever seen

Oh thank god
If you have been sharing that Malwarebytes article on the Gmail thing, you should note the giant correction up top.

It's wild that you can see the *exact moment* their brains collectively shattered

I'm never not thinking about @inbedwiththeright.bsky.social's suggestion that every billionaire get a humanities grad student assigned to monitor their media consumption and group chats
The partisan divide has grown, too. The wealthiest 100 tended to give more to Republicans than to Democrats before last year. But giving to the GOP spiked in 2024, with *84%* of donations going to back Republicans or conservative PACs.

Does anyone know how to keep Gemini off while also keeping the sorted mailboxes? That actually IS a helpful feature but man I am fucking furious that they are tricking me into letting AI read all my shit just to keep one (1) useful feature

(please don't tell me just to ditch it, that's not helpful)
If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

What the actual fuck, Apple
Not satisfied with just destroying their own brand goodwill, OS companies are now using AI to try to destroy the good names of the apps users install. (Scrivener taking out adds to explain how it has no AI but Apple adds some anyway.)

Not to be dramatic but I think these women should be allowed to kill people over this.

I feel like someone who follows me must know this?
Question for any romance novel history people out there: does anyone know who might have been the first romance author to write/publish strict dual POV, ie: in equally distributed, alternating chapters? (Or, first-ish, I know tracking firstness in literature is complicated)

Feel free to RT/boost

Once we get too close to actually holding someone or something accountable there’s an effort to quell the previously righteous anger, and/or redirect it into violence against scapegoats that only ends in more abuse

My Secret Lives of Mormon Wives take is that every single one of these women would be much, much happier working in marketing for a big company rather than fighting with each other at promotional events that are for some reason happening in airplane hangers

I was explaining Ruby Bridges to some Gen Zers, and was saying that she's the same age as my mom (and therefore this was recent) but it didn't really sink in for them, since I am Old. And then one pulled out her phone, looked something up, and then yelled RUBY BRIDGES HAS AN INSTAGRAM????
November 14, 1960: Ruby Nell Bridges Hall an American civil rights activist, became the first Black child to desegregate the all-white William Frantz Elementary School in Louisiana during the New Orleans school desegregation crisis.

genuinely the most upsetting part of these emails for me is how so many powerful people seemed to view his abuse of children as like, a personality quirk
did not have Harvard English professor Elisa New emailing Jeffrey Epstein about Lolita on my 2025 bingo card

this is one of those books that's an absolute gut punch but also very cathartic to read
ANYWAY! My 2023 book -- about systemic, institutionalized, longstanding patterns of misconduct, abuse, predation, and the enabling and even the celebration of same by the powerful -- was titled Burn It Down 🔥🔥🔥🔥 just sayin' bookshop.org/p/books/burn...
