so they're at the very end? We just started watching and the kids want to know when they come (we were guessing the end)

my writer group chat spent an entire day discussing the fact that the new Taylor album felt like a first draft her editor needed to push harder on, lmao

(I think this is also GRRM's problem, although he's not a billionaire. His books will sell a bajillion copies no matter what, so why edit?)

Every billionaire desperately needs a Get A Grip Friend, but being a billionaire makes that impossible to have

actual honest-to-god-funny humor is heavily reliant on context, which a computer, by nature, cannot have

steroids and too much plastic surgery, I think

teasing your friends is only possible if:

1) they think it's funny too
2) it comes from a place of mutual knowledge of each other
3) it is in the context of a broader friendship
4) it's pitched to also make them laugh (yes, this is different from #1)
5) everyone else can see that #1-4 are true

It’s far kinder than my suggestion (all-billionaire hunger games, winner gets a trophy that says World’s Specialest Boy, everyone else forfeits their fortune upon meeting a grisly end)

ughhhhhhhhhhhhh

(thank you)

yeah I am furious that the only way to keep a legit useful tool is to let them steal every single email I write and receive in perpetuity

There’s a discussion board thread where authors can ask for fixes like that! I don’t have a link but if you can’t find it let me know and I’ll see if I can dig it up

As I think about stories like this now (I was ~10 for Seinfeld, and ~12-13 during Clinton's scandal) I've realized that when the stories were happening/in the news the girls seemed "grown up" to me, but revisiting them as an actual goddamn adult in my early 40s I'm like

jesus fucking CHRIST

Miller and Co are repeating the mistakes of every kid who was considered smart in high school but never once bothered to learn anything: they read the first line of the instructions, figured "oh yeah I can do that" and dove right in not realizing the rest of the instructions had critical information
