Another reason I couldn't have written ME2 is that every time Shepard met someone From Before, I would have them say "Are you serious?" so that Shepard could reply "No, I'm Cerberus.", and then I would have been dumped on the side of the Yellowhead with no snowboots.
I do make all of my money from books (and 99% of that from advances; I barely clear a grand a year in royalties), but I had a GIANT advance from Disney in 2014 that my financial advisor put to use, and I'm Canadian, so health insurance is $112 a month, plus meds, ½ dental, ½ eyes (FOR NOW).
I know we know this, but authors need to get better at talking about how they actually make their money. Stop pretending it's from the books.

At least one more Trash King Arthur.
If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.

Oh, this is sad news.
Colleen Jones has died.
One of the greatest curlers in Canadian history, she appeared at the Scotties 21 times, winning six championships. She also won two World Championships. Jones was also a broadcaster on CBC for four decades before she retired.

I am seriously considering hosting a weekly meet up at the library where people come and ask me questions and if I can't answer them, we learn how ti look it up.
This is so soulless, I can't stand it. We have BRAINS. We can USE THEM.

Two things that I think would be beneficial to track in our current library attacks/book censorship era that I do not have capacity to do and suspect others who've been doing this for years don't, either.

1. Canadian library budget cuts. There are a LOT.
2. Libraries banning ALA membership.

We used to do turkey on Christmas Eve, goose on Christmas Day, and duck on New Year's Day, but grandma did the last two, so without her, it's Everyone's Favourites Christmas Eve, and turkey Christmas Day.

I really try to make jokes and find fun ways to spin terrible news on here, but I read this and the only thing I have to say about it is that Doug Ford is a piece of shit who shouldn't be running an Arby's, let alone a province. Fuck you, Doug. share.google/gPPqvtiuqD0O...

Shouts and chants rained down upon politicians at the Ontario legislature Monday as the government passed a housing bill that critics say makes it easier for landlords to evict tenants.

You know Ford's policy is great because they are once again ramming it through without debate.

(Also, ironically enough, "get a job" is what we *should* be yelling at career landlords.)

The five premiers who don't want this are, not coincidentally, five of the reasons Carney had to step in.
The Canadian federal government is going to court to limit provincial violations of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms using the notwithstanding clause. Prime Minister Carney is doing other things that I don't like, but he is on the right side of this issue. #cdnpoli www.cbc.ca/news/politic...

Mark Carney hasn't stopped travelling since becoming Prime Minister, and honestly this has big "showing my ex what he's missing" vibes.

And I kinda love it actually.

My list is obviously quite different, but I feel like this is a predictable and acceptable list from a politician.

Also: Solo is extremely fun and the internet was a giant bag of dicks about it, but it's EASILY the most watchable SW movie ever made.
haven’t seen ROS or Solo but this seems like a pretty ball-knowing list from Pritzker, particularly if he volunteered the name “Star Wars” rather than “A New Hope”
