So here’s the thing: I, a certified Disabled™️ Person, do not actually care if anyone fakes for an extra 20 minutes on the test. I care deeply about how the fear of that very thing puts up flaming hoops disabled people have to jump through.

Maybe listen to disabled folk on this one.
Balancing "no person with a disability should be denied accommodations" with "it's important to discourage non-disabled people from pretending to be disabled to take advantage of these accommodations" is really difficult and I don't have a great answer for what anyone should do about it.

All opera plot summaries are like "Kunfre, driven to madness by the treachery of Zarnfig, flees her wedding to Bogaro and resolves to throw herself into the sea, before being stopped by an unnamed and irrelevant countertenor" and all ballet plot summaries are like "somewhere, a princess exists"

"I'm being paid the same now, when I make 500 shirts a day, as I did when I made 50 shirts a day. Where the fuck is the money going?"

The popular idea of luddites is entirely due to generations of capitalists trying their damnedest to obscure what is a very simple issue.

Eleven years ago, I wrote to Tom Stoppard to ask about this coup de théâtre from 1949. It took me down an unexpected rabbit hole - in memory of Stoppard, here's what I found.

Inexplicably, the party formerly known as Your Party is still known as Your Party, instead of the more accurate and appropriate We Have The Green Party At Home.

So many people who imagine themselves to be Marxists have a deeply liberal and idealist understanding of transphobia. It's not a debate, it's a power struggle and if you aren't willing to clearly take trans people's side, you are a scab.
Nah, bullshit tbh. You don't deal with the presence of transphobes by debating them. That the guy arguing no felt comfortable doing so and wasn't immediately heckled into silence speaks to a fundamental fucking rot.

Speaking as a beardy old D&D grognard (I started when 2nd Ed came out and I still have to stop myself saying AD&D) - all this. Though if all your NPCs are cishet or you use detailed encumbrance rules, I will disapprove.
I need to stress: actual beardy old D&D grognards are not mad about people being gay in D&D. Don't let weird fascists tell you otherwise. We have never cared about what happens at someone else's table and we never will, it's none of our business (but please get off our lawn)

Greens: we need to tax wealth to tackle inequality, bring utilities into public control, and invest in a just transition away from fossil fuels

Commentariat: this is mad simplistic nonsense

Labour: economic growth & gentle nudges will fix it

Commentariat: yes yes very sensible, we all like growth

I've performed most of the characters in Arcadia, over nearly a dozen play reading parties. It's still one of my all time favourite plays, fire and lightning and numbers and a memorial for that which is dropped along the way.

We can do you blood and love without the rhetoric, and we can do you blood and rhetoric without the love, and we can do you all three concurrent or consecutive. But we can't give you love and rhetoric without the blood. Blood is compulsory.

They're all blood, you see.

I wouldn't have to worry about eating, heating, and a roof over my head, or staying on my university course. I'd be able to afford art materials and books and even other peoples' art. And massively up my charity donations.
Honest question: If everyone got Universal Basic Income, no strings attached, what would YOU do with it?

Using AI prompt generated images for anything professional at all makes you look instantly unprofessional. No one trusts anything you're saying or selling or pitching or proposing if you use it. Stop making yourself and your ideas look bad with this one easy step: never use AI generated images
I don’t know if anyone else notices or cares, but when I see a presentation in which the speaker uses obviously generated-AI images to illustrate their slides, it makes me immediately less confident in whatever other content they’re presenting.

Hope, creativity, community, all intersect in revolutionary acts of radical joy.
Since people find being hopeful and optimistic so cringe these days, let me remind you once again that there isn’t a single liberation movement in the world that wasn’t built on hope and optimism.
