This ball & stick representation is a new one on me - maybe it's just that I've been away from basic chemistry for a very long time?

I cannot wait for the smaller #bookbinding needles I ordered to arrive.

I love impasto acrylics, except how long it takes them to cure.

Keeping my hands busy during tutorials (online tutorials!) helps me focus.

Now I need to choose some cover paper, and touch up the paint on the leather-embossed paper that makes up the spine binding. (Gmund H(l)eather).

For various reasons I needed a distraction, so here we are. No process photos because hyperfocus happened. My first time making a book block with multiple signatures. I really need some smaller bookbinding needles, 15s are absurd for this.

One nice surprise from all the packing and unpacking I've had to do recently - the lovely needle book @evenicholls.bsky.social made me has resurfaced! As for the thing I still can't find? The box with all the thread in. I have miles of sashiko thread, but no embroidery or bookbinding thread at all.

This evening's drawing, playing with the effect of layers - not the visual effect, but the way they interact with process. #DigitalArt #Rebelle

I really miss doing physical printing. Not being able to work with ink and paper and press is leaving me really ungrounded. This was from last year, and the combination of disability and having the place still upturned for contractors means it's barely been an option since.

Equinox, and we are now officially halfway through Autumn! It feels like it out there - chilly morning sunlight is turning the Old Red Sandstone buildings golden.

It's been a while since I found a good vintage cookbook! This one is a first edition from 1960, by Molly Weir, who would later go on to be Hazel the McWitch from Rentaghost. Like a lot of her career, it's very Scottish-flavoured for English consumption, but she does promise some proper Scots food.

This picture is entitled "My flat is full of workmen, l cannot nap, and all my analogue art materials are covered in dust sheets".

Whichever underpaid worker glued this Kindle case together did an amazingly inconsistent job. Parts of it are like rock and parts barely glued at all.

The haar came in quickly this evening. Images taken ten minutes apart.

Finally, a better photo! Also, finished. For sale in principle. (Mixed media, loosely inspired by a particular hawthorn hedge I saw on holiday.)

And another design - the ever-beloved opening paragraphs of Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice. Free shipping till the end of Sunday, and after that it's just good value - and these are the most comfortable T-shirts I've ever worn, as well as being very green.

This weekend, you can get free shipping on all my Teemill shop - trees and leaves and words and more. This one is a subtle, or at least deniable, trans flag tree design.
