"MBAs loathe employees. Any employees. They despise you. AI promises the one thing MBAs want more than anything — firing people — so they’re all-in. That it doesn’t work does not matter."

The job losses are real — but the AI excuse is fake
Both of these statements are true: Across the whole US economy, there’s not really a visible effect of AI on hiring and job mix; Some sectors are absolutely devastated directly by AI. But als…

I do think the correct response to right-wing arguments going forward is "whatever you say, Epstein"

Seeing these Epstein transcripts go by is like a precursor to people vanishing into the AI solipsism loop.
A confidant who a little cryptically encourages you in your own impulses.
And an entourage of attractive young things who will also listen to your ramblings, and nod and say "tell me more".
know this is not something that could happen either in general or at least in the next few years but I would genuinely love it if a journalist could sit down with some of the powerful people who interacted with Epstein - even anonymously - so they could explain what they got out of the relationship

Thinking about this a lot especially given how much people really just don't know about scientific fields' histories and how much the present is shaped by the past
3. the obsession with denying and rewriting history, pretending AI only appeared in the last 3 years or that it has no history before the last few decades, etc.

Please fill out this consultation on the "earned settlement" immigration proposals in the UK, which would see many people waiting 20 or 30 years for settled status in the UK and even then having "no recourse to public funds" despite working and paying tax. migrantsrights.org.uk/2026/01/29/e...
Call to Allies: Complete the ‘Earned Settlement’ Consultation - Migrants' Rights Network
New 'earned settlement' proposals left members of our Network feeling incredibly distressed. We're calling on allies to respond.

Letting the AI guys be in charge of AI control would be uh *not good*, and like oil companies with carbon emissions they are really gonna want to get themselves put in charge of it

I feel like 'pert' is also usually a red flag, and not just in the context of breasts.
i would love never reading the word "nubile" in an article written by a man ever again

The thing that stood out to me about moltbook and the discourse around it was how some people who are otherwise critical about AI and also sound systems thinkers even let themselves be wow’d by it because people have a hard time not reading purposive intelligence into emergent behavior
I was thinking, a really good question to ask students to see if they understand how LLMs work would be to ask them how the “emergent consciousness” of Moltbook is possible. Because it’s utterly explicable, even predictable, if you understand what the technology does.
Shocker: Moltbook is insecure and left users’ API keys exposed, allowing anyone to take over any account
